When all else fails in christianity use fear and threats to make others believe. It has been working for 2000 years, why would they stop now. If belief in god won't work they feel threats of suffering might work in their place.

i'm a christian, ex atheist who agrees too many christians put an emphasis on Satan. It's not right.
If you believe in God you will understand the whole picture, why and how Satan came to be who he is and how it's made our world what it is. It's all part of the history.

I would prefer that they be Christians. They are playing with Satan now, even though they don't believe.

Some days I get the impression they'd rather we believed in anything -- even Mumbo Jumbo God of the Congo -- just so they'd have a shot at converting us. People who feel no need to believe can simply waste the time of so many missionaries who have quotas to fill!

They think atheists are deluded by Satan to disbelieve as they do. So it's really the same thing. In the Christian worldview, nobody is really responsible for his own beliefs or actions; he's just the pawn of invisible supernatural beings, it seems, whether for good or ill.

Well...belief in God is very important, but equally important is obediance to his laws right? People in the OT who didn't know about God, but kept on the righteous path were deemed acceptable to God. In order then to do God's will, we have to be aware of Satan who lays traps for us all the time. Knowing one's enemy and their tactics is vital here.

Even Satan believes in God.
I don't think most Christians put emphasis on Satan - though I can see how you might think that.
