I mean if you know there's a "better place" and that you will see them again then why do you cry and get all sad? It doesn't make sense to me!

Deep down, inside, they know that they are probably never actually going to have an eternal existence.

There is pain when you are separated from someone you love regardless of the reason you are removed from that persons presence. Since death is the final separation from this physical, temporal world, it is a time to grieve the loss; for Christians just like anyone else. Grief is saying that the person who is gone will be greatly missed and is loved. Why doesn't that make sense to you? Don't you have anyone that you would miss like that?

Christians are people who have feelings just like non-Christians. When we lose a loved one, we usually are feeling sorry for ourselves, because we will really miss them.

The Bible says that we should cry at the coming in (birth) and rejoice at the going out (death).

I grieve but then I know that I will see them again one day in heaven so I get over it. Its healthy to grieve but after a while its time to move on.

Well, even know we know our loved ones are going through the gaves of heaven, we are selfish. We miss their voice, laughter, support, etc., and most of all, just seeing that person. For me, I am not afraid of death. I will walk through the gates of heaven and see God and Jesus, as well as see all of my loved ones again.

We cry because we are selfish, we cry because of all the wonderful attributes our loved one had that they took with them upon death. therefore robbing us of the unique things that person brought to our lives. When my father died I cried like crazy, I know he is saved, I know he is before the presence of God, I know because my father loved and lived for God in a mighty way, he was truly a Godly man. But I cried because he took with him his immense capacity for kindness, he took his hands of gentleness, he took his great words of wisdom, he took with him the eyes that saw me in a way no one has ever seen me, the eyes that saw me as his princess. So yes I admit it, I cry because I am selfish.

Well because if it's someone you love, you are of course going to still miss the person.

This is a dumb question. Because whether or not you believe these things, you still have to go on without this person until you die.

We are not upset about where they are headed, we are upset that they are leaving us. It is just selfishness on our part.
