If you want to study the bible, Jehovah's Witnesses should be the first group you start with.
We are one of the few groups that actually believe Jesus is the true Son of God. Matt 3:17; John 10:36
Most others teach that Jesus is God.
The bible says to avoid human philosophies, Col 2:8
Most other Religions believe the teachings of Plato.
Plato taught trinities
Jesus taught about the only true God (John 17:3)
Plato taught the soul is mortal.
Jesus taught that the soul can be destroyed.
Matt 10:28.
If you find Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth, then you haven't wasted your time.

By all means go to the Witnesses. They can help you a lot. John 17 v 3 says, "This means everlasting life their taking in accurate knowledge of you, the one True God and the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ." Jesus himself said, "The truth will set you free" he meant free from the traditions of men. The Bible tells us that we are fast approaching the time when all false religion will be destroyed so it is important now, while you have the time, to study the Bible and find out the Will of God.

Jehovah's Witnesses DO have a lot of truth. So they may have some good nuggets to share with you. But I would be hesitant to rely on their teachings because they don't believe that Jesus is the son of God, they believe he died for their sins but consider Him as more of an angel or servant of God. This would make me hesitant to trust their judgement on other things as well. If you want totally Biblical based answers to some tough questions we all face I'd visit this website, you can read their study guides online.: http://www.amazingfacts.org/FreeStuff/OnlineLibrary/tabid/106/Default.aspx
Let the holy spirit guide you! God bless!

That is good that you are studying the bible, I would stay away from the Jws there teachings are false, if you do some research you will find they have a lot of failed prophecies concering the end of times. They even have produced a bible that helps support their doctrines that they teach. I would say find a local church to attend , I would find a church that is going to help you in your walk to finding bible truth, strenghten you spiritualy. Remember keep praying God will answer sincere prayers he will open doors for you. Jws are nice people, but that is it there teachings are not true. Once you allow them in it is hard to shut the door.

I am not an expert about JW's. But I most definately am learning from some of these answers! Before I read them, I would've said to listen to what they have to say, but be careful because they have their own whole other bible, the book or mormon. But these answers have me understanding them a little more.
The question you have to ask yourself is this, Do you believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah? The true son of God? If you do, and if these facts are true the the JW's don't believe that Jesus is the son of God, then maybe consider staying away from it. It might well just cause a debate. It might well just defer you away from believing in Jesus' divinity. Pray about this. Follow God's leading.

This is a bit of a loaded question. You can ask them about the JW faith. They may also know about Christianity, but as they do not believe in the full, eternal, deity Jesus, they are not Christian.
This is not a criticism, simply a line of demarcation between belief systems.

My suggestion, first ask a Jew about God. Learn from them what they've believed for over three thousand years so that you have a firm grasp of the nature of this God and what He told them about himself and the promissed Messiah. Once you have the basics down, you'll be armed with truth that will prevent anyone from misleading you with false doctrine. Here's a few websites you can visit to get started.

If you believe that the bible is true, you really should strive to understand it, and that means learning what God originally told his chosen people, and that when He says something is supposed to be eternal, it really is supposed to be eternal. I wish you the best in your quest for truth.

You can ask anyone about any other religion and get vast and varied, and mostly uninformed answers about them. Search for the answers yourself.

Probably not. I would do research into different denominations of Christianity though if you are searching for a church to join.
