I was 14 at the time. I regret it and have had other sex partners since. I'm almost 17 and wish I waited. What is your experience? I lost my virginity to my boyfriend who was cheating on me at the time (I didn't know) and he dumped me a few days after we had sex.

I was 18 and regret it as well. You can't change the past though. Just learn from it and it made you stronger in the long haul. It's good that you have morals and you know right from wrong at 16 years old. I wish more teenagers could have your brains :o)

There's no "should" but 14 was probably a bit young. You need to be both physically and emotionally ready, and you need to have a partner you can trust (which apparently you didn't). What's past is past; don't let it mess up your life. Make sure you're protected, date and leave yourself open for experiences, but do so with your eyes open, and never let a guy pressure you into something. if he really likes and respects you, he'll wait if you want to wait.

Finally, don't buy the abstinence argument. Most people preaching that claptrap are having sex themselves. Do it when YOU feel it's right, not when someone else does.

sex without emotional connection for the first time, frankly,if I had to do it again ,would wait until I was so so sure! not run on feeling, mostly physical .
There are alternatives to gratification right.
Sharing your body with someone as corny as it may sound to some ,is special, so not to make sure the person is totally worth it is selling out and letting yourself down.
And aren't you the one who you will look at in the mirror at the end of the day for everyday in your life? So your choices are important,as important as you are!
Hide sight is 20/20.....but again,if I knew what I knew now..I would wait at least until 20.
Then actually, being comitted in a marriage ,it really has so many points that make that a very good idea.
I worked at hospital,a young, very young girl came in..he first sexual experience got her a broken heart and HIV ! Not kidding! Was it worth it?.
Heart, mind, body, soul, all so important and the owner/self really needs to think about important choices more than ever.

I think around 17 or 18. 14 is too young in my opinion.
And you definitely SHOULD have sex before marriage. You wouldn't buy a car without taking it for a test drive, would you? Sorry...I know that wasn't your question, I was just commenting on a previous answer.

I was 17 when I lost mine. Don't regret it.

Beats me. I think I'm going to tell my daughter that she shouldn't sleep with someone before she's ready and shouldn't sleep with a guy just to keep him, but I understand that she probably will anyway. I'll tell her that she should never sleep with anyone she can't discuss sex with, and her and her partner should be proficient at masterbating each other to orgasm. I don't think anyone ever follows their parents advice, but as most parents don't seem to even give advice, I guess I'll be doing better than most. I was 22 and it was to keep a guy. That I'm happily shacked up with him and our daughter makes me feel the decision was right, but I wish we had waited a bit longer. Sadly I thought it didn't matter, and he didn't know it would matter either. It's caused us a lot of problems and I hope I can spare my daughter and other young people the same troubles. Losing your virginity before you are ready really hampers your sexual development.

This is the oldest story in the book. Typical girl that follows societys rules saves sex for the guy who says he loves her. Typical guy that wants sex tells her what she wants to hear. They have sex, she gets dumped and gets his week of lust and pleasure. The fault lays on both the girl and the guy. The girl for being naive enough to think that a relations based on premarital sex will last(it never does), and the guys for being a retarded moron to think that sex without marriage(i.e. love, commitment, and true caring) is enough to make him a real man.

When will people learn???????????????????
You have lost your virginity(it happens) but u can get your innocence back by waiting till marriage and saving your sex and your love for yopur husband. Trust me , those are the relationships that almost never end in divorce.

I'm fourteen at this time, and have my virginity still (although, to tell you the truth, I've only had one boyfriend...so...yeah. Heh.). My friend lost her virginity at age 13...and she says it's the largest mistake she ever made. In my opinion, I would think out of college/schooling and on your feet (or marriage...but that's implied) before sex. But once again, that's my opinion. It also depends on how long you've been going out with the guy...but, I really think below high school is too young.

I did the same thing but my boyfriend didnt cheat on me. I'm 17 now and feel like i should have waited at least two more years but dont feel bad because in the future he will realize that you was the right one for him and it will be too late then

Niiice.
This is why I always recommend that people make it a policy to wait until they're at least 18. You need to be emotionally mature enough to handle sex and not embarrassed to buy condoms. (Not to mention, a baby really puts a damper on your GPA.)
