I know that she has done a wrong thing but she was out begging or trying to gain benefits of the country I guess it was hard to support herself , but it a real shame . i think that the goverment should permit people who are married but waiting to get citizenship to work and help to pay tax whilst there here so that they can survive

She can try contacting one of the charities who help with immigration problems (see links below).

ladymoonlight - No need to be so self-righteous! Illegals do the work that British people are too 'proud' to do. They do jobs like cleaning toilets & washing dishes, They often work long hours for little pay. The difference between them and you is that they want to work for their money whereas people like you are happy to sponge off the state or make a living through crime! So please don't give me the usual BNP CRAP about how they are taking the job from a British person!

Should this person not have permission to stay in this country then she is illegal.People who marry British Citizens in the Uk have an automatic right to work immediatly. It sounds as though she is from one of the African countries and will be deported. In the eyes of the Law being in possesion of false papers and Begging and trying to milk our public funds makes here a criminal of the highest order.Their is the slightest chance because she has been here a long time that the Home Office will tear up the papers as they are going to do with 750,000 others who are illegal. This is a self made mess and personally not knowing the full facts remain sat on the fence.

So is this right...
She moved here and married a man, then didnt live with him but carried on living in the country and living an independant life..... just as if she had never married him?

Does that sound dodgy to you and perhaps why the home office also thinks it sounds dodgy. If she wanted to marry the man then she would have lived with him.

And then she added to her crimes by working illegally - no wonder they want her out the country if she cant obay the rules.

But what is your question? What exactly would you like to know? She most probably be deported since - if she was illegal & married a British subject/resident she must be having resident visa too but since she didnt bother means there is more to it. In most cases even illegal disclose this fact to their spouses and try to become legal - go back to their countries & have the visa stamp there etc.

I think your friend should check who is that woman? Does she have criminal record back home in her home country? Why didn't she tell him the truth when they got married or even after they got married?

I am smelling crime here, she may have done something seriously wrong, its just my speculation but neverk know.

Please provided what exactly would you like to know (I mean ur question) & I may be able to answer better.

All that can be done now is to find a decent solicitor. But immigration officials are all hard-nosed a55holes who believe that living in the UK or working illegally in the UK is worse than murder.

Ask Citizens' Advice about obtaining a good solicitor. And good luck!

there are rules put there for every one. she knew the rules. she took her chance. now its time to go home. and all of her antics will cost the tax payer £10.000.00 in legal costs and twice!! that for all the admin back and forth+ appeals and so on. + the money to keep her for all the time the case goes on. add to that dealing with her son!. the cost of social workers etc. ....y'know what!! shes screwing our country. and so are you! for not acting in the interest of the country you live in.....when are you morons going to face up to your responsibility. Britain cant be social security for the entire world.
