I claimed exempt for about 2 months cause I was getting garnished so now I am trying to catch up so I won't have to pay alot of money. So my question....Is federal suppose to be higher than FICA? Right now I am about hundred dollars more in FICA than federal thanks!!!!!!

so there is nothing I can do then? I really don't want to have to pay alot Im scared it will be like 500 bucks

There's nothing wrong with adjusting your withholding throughout the year to get through tough times, but you can never change the amount of taxes you're going to owe. If you don't have it withheld during the year, you'll find yourself owing at the end of the year.

(FICA has no relation to income tax withholding. They can be higher or lower from one paycheck to the next depending on how many hours you worked.)

It depends on how much you make. FICA percent stays the same at 7.65% until you reach a quite high income, but inccome tax vaires depending on your income and what you put on your W-4. It isn't unusual for FICA to be higher than income tax withholding.
