My mom says I run around the streets too much. Almost everyday I come home from school, stay until about 4:30, leave, come home at 8:30. I think she doesn't understand that I can't stay at the house all day everyday. So I was just wondering if its me who needs to understand her or her who needs to understand me?

Ok. I guess you need more information.
I'm 15, I've never gotten into trouble in my life, not even small things. I don't do drugs. I do good in school, I'm almost a straight A student. My mom knows that I'm good, but some of my friends aren't exactly perfect. I've explained to her that they never talk me into stuff and I never do drugs or anything with them because that's my life choice.

What are you doing when you're running around? Can you bring your friends there? I know moms like it when their kids hang out at home - even with friends over. She probably misses you and wants to spend time with you too. So you leave for school around 7am, and you don't really come home until about 8:30pm...that's an awful lot of time to be gone every day. I think you both need a little compromise...you need to spend more time at home (and bring friends too - I'm sure she won't mind)...and she needs to understand that you want to spend SOME time away. But I do agree that it's a little excessive.

You don't say how old you are, but you are in school so that means you are under 18, and to young to be on the streets. You should be home from school, and doing things there. If there is someplace you need to go that is special, then I could see it, but every night is to much. I wonder when you get in trouble if you will be able to stand staying in jail everyday, all day.

As long as you are getting your school work done and your grades are good (you are studying enough) then 4 hrs an evening of being out and about shouldn't be an issue. Better t be out than sitting at home in front of the computer goofing off, or playing video games. Kids NEED to get out more and spend time outdoors being physically active, and socializing with others face-to-face.

Is your homework done before you head out? What are you doing while your out? Are you engaged in a safe activity, such as basketball at the local park? If you are simply just wondering around, then you need to understand your mothers views, just wondering around for four hours a day is trouble waiting to happen. If you are engaged in a safe activity then explain that to your mother.

Are you an only child? She might just still consider you as her baby. Just keep doing well in school and show her that you are being responsible. Don't give her a reason to think that she has been right :)
