I am allergic to the antibiotic augmentin, a sulfar. I was wondering if that means I would also be allergic to the sulfites in wine?

its sulfa. Augmentin isn't a sulfa drug, so if you are allergic to augmentin then you are allergic to penicillan and all of those drugs.

The drug is "sulfa" but Augmentin is a penicillin, not a sulfa. The material in wine is "sulfite" which is not the same.
