Sorry, brother, but what you have just quoted from the Declaration of Independence was not the outcome of church and state working together. On the contrary, it was the result of the separation of church and state. Don't forget that the pilgrims fled from Europe because they could not worship according to the dictates of their conscience. They were fleeing a persecuting church that was wielding the arm of the state and put to death all who refused to obey her decrees.

The only obstacle to the supremacy of papal Rome is the Constitution of the United States. Thus, it is that when people get secular as well as ecclesiastical authority, they exercise that authority unrighteously over their subjects. You have heard that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Well, that is what happens when there is no balance between government and religion. It is too easy for the rulers/leaders to let that power go to their heads and forget the position of trust that they have to govern and lead, and not just to rule and compel. A good leader works with his people and does not just dictate to them. It is a fine line that seems to be easily crossed and only truly good people are able to have both duties and not be seduced by the power that they hold.
This is a common theme. Think of the dark side of the force in Sky Wars. Think of the power of immortality that Voldemort was trying to garner in the H.P. series. Think of the power of the ring in Lord of the Rings. These are all symbolic of the real seduction of power that wicked people succumb to in real life situations.
I experienced this kind of unrighteous dominion in the military. Little people (mentally and spiritually) use a little authority to prove that they have power over others. They use their rank and try to exercise dominion over those of lesser rank instead of treating them with respect as individuals with equal worth. The military way is not God's way of dealing with each other. The military way is quite Satanic in its treatment of its people. You are forced to conform to the military way and no other way is considered acceptable. Their is no individuality, no agency and you either succeed or fail as a unit because all you do is follow orders.
That is the stereotypical outlook. There individual thinkers and they are usually the ones that have greater success.
I think you get my point. Our government separates the judicial, administrative and legislative branches of government for the same reason, so that no one branch can gather and exercise too much power. The separation of powers creates the checks and balances in our government and it is a good model to follow in church and state as well.
