It is law everywhere that the driver of any motor vehicle involved in a traffic crash MUST stop and offer their drivers license information, car information and insurance information.

If you do not assist the police you will be charge with accessory after the fact and in my state your car would be impounded and basically held hostage as evidence until the driver was located.

So, all you are doing is compounding the problems for you AND your friend. This will not just go away.

Oh, and the other driver will sue YOU and that will tie you up in court for ever. And your insurance will DROP you and you may have a hard time ever getting insurance again.

You need to come clean, since it is your car, you could get the blame and get ticketed or worse. Doesn't matter if there was no damage, there was still an incident and your friend should have never left the scene. Your friend should have had more respect for you and your property. I know it was an accident and accidents happen, but you could be the one in trouble and you didn't even do anything except be nice enough to let your friend use your vehicle.

There was no damage to your vehicle, but was there damage to the other vehicle. Sometimes there is damage even if you can't see it and even if there was a scratch to the other vehicle you are responsible.

If your friend felt like she was in danger, she should have called the police as soon as she could to report the accident and the other driver's threatening behavior. If you know who was driving the vehicle and refuse to tell the police, you could be charged with obstruction of justice. Also since it was your car, you and/or your insurance could be responsible for any claims made by the other driver.

If you know who it was you need to give them a name now rather than later. The longer these things run the worst they get. Want to go to jail for conspiracy after the fact? Could happen.

If your "friend" was really in fear for his life he should have driven to the nearest police station or away from the argument and called. His simply leaving the scene is hit and run.
