I have an 06 scion tc that I'm trying to unload because I want a smaller payment. I tried to trade it in for an older car so I could get a smaller payment but I am upside down on the loan for the car and I have bad credit (which is why I'm tryin to make my payments smaller.) Even the dealer told me to just keep the scion and try again in a few years.

Is there really no other options to make my payments smaller?

You owe more than the car is worth. To sell of trade the car, you would have to pay the difference between what you owe and the value either in cash or as part of any new car loan. If you are in effect paying for part of one car and then another on on the same loan, it is going to be very hard to get a lower payment!

You might want to increase your income, by getting a part time job or working overtime at the job you have now. Put all the money you make from the second job into the car payments and get the balance paid down. This will also assist you in rebuilding your credit!

Good luck.

maybe someone could take up payments for you...or ask for small amount cash for you, and they take up payments. You would at least be rid of the high payment, will help your credit by not being late. Save a little cash to put down on a used vehicle...let someone else pay THE NEW off of it, then you'll be in the bargaining seat then. Good luck!
