I have a two shelf bookcase. Color is White! I just moved into a new place and my new furniture, the carpet and the color of the wall don't match the bookshelf. How can i repaint the bookcase without screwing it up? Do i need to use a sand paper to get the white color off? I don't know anything about it, any help is appreciate it!

sand first for a better finish with a fine grit paper you are not removing the old paint just giving it a light sand to remove any imperfections then you can paint right on top

find a color that u like in your furniture or carpet or other accessory and then go to like a walmart or such and look at their paint swatches and take some home and see if you like the color and see if it matches what you were trying to match. get the paint and paint your bookcase. no prep work is necessary. when you are done, if you happen to like the distressed look, you can lightly sand off random edges and the white paint will come through. you may not like that though. if not just, retouch up the paint. you won't screw up =)...
