here here!
i love this. I'm so used to 'why are you here' questions directed at atheists. and this time, i didn't have to say 'well, god sure didn't put me here!'

I have never complained about atheists being here. I am very interested in all that you have to say, and I respect every one here.
Please do not lump us all into one category. It's not really fair.
Don't you agree?
The "tenuous shell of unreality" to which you refer is my faith. Can you not show me some respect, even though you disagree? I do you the same courtesy.
I am here because this is the "religion and spirituality" section. Christianity is a religon.
Christianity is spirirual.
I did not realize that you were in charge here.
I hope that my answer is acceptable to you.
I do have as much right to be here as you do. Wouldn't you agree?
Thanks so much for your interest.
Please consider my request that you might show a little respect for me, even though you think my beliefs are silly or whatever. It would be a kind thing for you to do.
Thanks ever so much.

Well, I'm in the R&S category because I saw a question earlier addressed to Christians. Evidently there are people on Yahoo who have questions they want Christians to answer and they have placed the questions in this section.
I will tell you this, though, there are a lot of people on here like yourself who have to lump everybody into a specific category. For example, your question appears to be aimed at ALL Christians when in fact, it should probably be addressed to SPECIFIC Christians. You obviously knew this category was the place to put your question if you wanted Christians to answer. Therefore, you answered your own question before any Christian could give his/her answer.
Second, how do you know the people who are complaining are Christians? I'm not trying to be facetious, I'm just asking if the people who you have noticed to be complainers identify themselves as Christians. Just curious.
Third, do you know who makes up the categories? Maybe all religions and spiritual groups could have their very own category. That way, people like you, who seem to be able to dish it out but not take the heat when it's given back, can associate with like-minded people.
You resort to a form of name calling in order to make yourself feel bigger and if that makes you feel good about yourself....well, ok. I don't care. It doesn't hurt my feelings or make me any less strong in my faith. And if you think it's okay for you to be interested in what other religions are about, then why can't Christians use that same reason? Are you afraid that if Christians know what you believe that what....you'll get laughed at, they'll think you're stupid for believing what you believe? Whatever. Get over yourself. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

We are here because this section is for Religion and Spirituality. Christianity is a Religion (if you like it or not).In fact, if you are a pagan or an atheist, why are you here? Just to antagonize the people that do believe in religion? We get upset because we hate to see anybody waste the life that God gave them.It is your choice though. If you did not like your neighbor and his house was on fire. You would still try to warn him to get out before he died wouldn't you? This is all the Christians are doing with y'all. We only want to wake you up and warn you.Sounds like YOU are the one upset though !

I am here to answer questions people may have about God, Jesus, or the Christian faith. I have no problem with you being here. No, I'm not interested in Wicca or Buddhism or atheism. But if I truly believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and the only way to Heaven is by believing in and trusting in Him, it would be pretty selfish for me to keep it to myself, don't you think? Maybe atheists should realize that just because they want people to think the way they do so they can feel better about themselves is not the only motivation for sharing one's thoughts. I share because I care, not to push others down or make them feel inadequate. And I have no problem hearing anyone's words, I just don't necessarily agree.

My goodness, I've never seen such vitriole from someone who should be comfortable with who he is!
Don't feel threatened by other beliefs, mate. Your outburst only makes people shake their head and wonder...
Sure there are those who complain on either side, but take a look at how many millions of people are on the 'net; there are bound to be some people on either side who feel the need to speak up.
If you're so dead set against Christians, or any religion, then maybe YOU'RE in the wrong place? EVERYONE has a right to be here-- Christians, Buddhists, Pagans, whoever... let's not create more bad blood by spewing abuse, ok?

Is atheism a religion? Is it spiritual?
Why are atheists really here? Can it be that some truly are thinking about converting? Or are they really just here to take shots at those of us that do have belief in God, whichever denom., or religion we are?
Whatever the reason, I have through these pages, met and learned something from those that do not believe. It has not been all hurtful. To learn their points of view has been helpful, actually.

I have no idea what prompted your question. As a Christian, knowing what I believe, and learning what others believe, both make me stronger. If someone has legitimate questions about my belief, I have no problem discussing my beliefs. If, however, I am asked questions with the motive of starting an argument, forget it, that's not why I am here. If you are truly interested, great! If I am ever asked a question for which I have no immediate answer, I will find it.

This is religion and spirituality. It is obvious that this is the Yahoo forum for Christianity and other religious and spiritual opinions. All serious questions and inquiries should be welcome here. All serious and responses are likewise welcome. What is disturbing are questions and answers that are patently mocking and disrespectful.
Those that support the no religion, no spiritual outlook on life don't have much to talk about without being critical and disrespectful. Thus, it would seem that this forum does not pertain to them nearly as much as it would or does to those that do have a religious/spiritual outlook on life.
Therefore, if you have a serious question or desire to give a serious answer, you are welcome. If you are going to waste your time and ours on disrespectful mocking of others beliefs, then you should not bother being in this forum. It does not pertain to you.

The tenuous shell of unreality that you speak of is real. The proof of it is MY family. I pray you could see the truth.
Are you happy? Do others care about you? A person has to learn that we have to LOVE them first and that LOVE grows before the wisdom sinks in.

I have never asked why atheists are here, actually you have a right to be here. I am not here to be converted by buddhists, wiccans or atheists- I am strong in my faith, and i love sharing my faith with others, is that ok?
