my puppy is 11 weeks old and she sleeps in my room inside her crate, otherwise she cries...for how long should I do this before I can have her sleep by herself? Ideally that would be in the kitchen or family room area. I dont mind her being in the bedroom, but it's pretty small and it could mess up a love life :)
Thank you!

When she can sleep through the night without needing to go out to go to the bathroom, try slowley moving her crate a foot or two at a time each night out of the bedroom to a better place so it won't feel she is being kicked out or is a shock to her. Maybe by 4m she can be on her own without going out at night, but it depends a lot on the dog and how the house training is going. If you are worried about her, put a piece of your clothing in there to help her adjust and feel safe.

Dogs are pack animals and your puppy will want to be near her pack leader or her pack (which ever she thinks you are)
Put her crate just outside your room and eventually put it where you want her to sleep.
Find a sharp noise you can easily make that is abrupt. UHH,or spss and use that same noise when you want her to stop some action. Be sure she relates the noise with STOP
My dog knows that a hissing noise and a pointed finger ....means you are in trouble and stop that right now.
My 2 dogs have the run of the house at night and sleep in different places depending on the weather. Stormy nights is in bed with the Mom, hot nights is on the tile. If you do not want a 50 pound dog in your bed later, don't let her start now.

You will have to be careful potty training. Go out frequently. Bladders are small. Don't yell after she made a puddle in the house, she DOES NOT UNDERSTAND. You make your noise if you catch her peeing and take her out. After the fact does not work. The "old sticking her nose in it" is awful and she has no idea what you are doing.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/aIpsV

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.

It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

She's old enough now - Getting her used to sleeping in your room is just going to cause problems down the line. Train her from the beginning that her crate's place is in the kitchen or family room so she doesn't know otherwise.

WOW nice cross, those are 2 very smart breeds so it should be really easy to house train them.
