So you are gay, and a Christian....Do you believe God will forgive a blatant disobeyment of His word or do you know that the Bible says it is an "abomination to the Lord" and you live in fear of eternal damnation, but you are what you are and cannot help it?

I am straight, I go to a church where we welcome ALL PEOPLE. I have friends that are 100% gay and Christian and scared to death, literally. I myself have experimented, but just for sexual pleasure, not true love. SO PLEASE, I just want to get an idea how many feel what way about the Bible and their sexual orientation. If I offended you, I am truly sorry.

Not trolling...Just that a very nice person in my church (non-denom)is openly gay and she struggles everyday with the thought of going to Hell. I was just wondering how many in the gay community are in a similar situation.

I am not a lesbian, I have had sex with another woman for pleasure purposes ONLY. I am a mother of 2, divorced because he cheated and got another lady pregnant. (The Bible allows that excuse) I asked for forgiveness and haven't done it again, thinking every time you sin and continue sinning you can just ask God to forgive. In my own belief I think God expects us to fall short and provides us a way to redeem ourselves. But abuse of this gift is as bad as not asking for forgiveness in the first place.

Thanks BERT for an answer without an insult.

To the rest of you, I will pray for you all as I pray for myself. Gee-Wilikers folks, I just wanted to ask the GAY people how THEY felt, not start a riot!

Jed, you and I read the same Bible. And I belive in the "New Testament" law rather than the Old Testament covenant. Romans does make a good case. Thank you for reminding me and I will pass this on to my friend.

Still lovin' nascar has exactly the right point, however incomplete. Drunks, murders, gluttons, adulterers etc. inside the churh and as members of the body of Christ are to be warned and admonished to repent and turn from their sinful ways, not coddled and excused. Homosexuality is the only sin that I know of that is so coddled and everyone tries to explain it away. The Bible plainy says it is an abomination and that it is a sin. ALL sin must be repented of and turned from. No exceptions. To do so you would have to ignore that Jesus said, in His first public message,
" Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand". Matthew 4:17
Repentance is not optional !

Well there are a lot of ways to answer this question.

First off, its based on Christian Idealism, not everyone thinks Christianity is the way. Lets assume it is, and then everything in the Bible is absolute. With this mentality it is apparent that virtually no one is free from sin. Furthermore, being gay is not really a huge sin, if it was then wouldnt it have been in the 10 commandments. We forgive our soldiers for killing. We forgive cooperation for stealing. We forgive adultery, addicts , but not homosexuality? Really! Who are we to judge? Who are we to say something is right or wrong? Isnt posting this question and implying that you know for a fact that "homosexuality is an abomination of the lord" a sin? The bible says to love thy neighbor, and to turn the other cheek. In all honesty the bible preaches so much love thats its sad to use it in order to push HATE. Also is there anything in the New Testimate about Homosexuality? Tell your gay friends not to worry as well, because its just how GOD made them. Much love....

TOLERANCE!!!!!

AFTER you are Born-Again (Spirit Recreated by Believing Who Jesus Said HE Was and Asking HIM to Save (recreate) You (a Spirit)---The Only Way to Lose your Salvation is:

Hebrews 6:4,5,6---The Unpardonable Sin

The Unpardonable Sin is not: lying, stealing, murder, fornication, being gay so on.

Study these Scriptures. You have to Accomplish 5 Things THEN turn Around and Tell Jesus that you do not want HIM, The Bible, GOD The Father, The Holy Spirit or anything to do with Jesus Christ, Risen from the Dead.
AND KNOW what you are Doing when you Tell Jesus you don't want HIM or HIS Salvation anymore.

Hard to Believe a Child of GOD could do this, but sadly it occurs everynow and then.

The Rule of Thumb: if your Scared that you have Committed the Unpardonable Sin--You Have Not! (cause you Still want to go to Heaven!)
Very few commit this Unpardonable Sin.

Baby Christians (Children of GOD) Cannot even Commit it.

I have Told you the Truth!
Hope this helps!

sexual orientation? experimental....just for pleasure? everything you have said has been a contradiction of terms. fornication is fornication. whether you were experimenting for sexual pleasure. that's like saying i want to go out and sin for a few minutes and see how it makes my carnal flesh feel but i will be right back, Lord. by the way, don't wait up for me while i am gone. we all have to abstain from sin whether it is the sin of fornication, homosexuality, idolatry, adultery, lying, cheating, stealing, etc. shall you continue in sin? God forbid as paul wrote. read your bible maybe this will clear up some of your misconceptions. be a follower of Christ, not a follower of your own youthful lusts. God's grace is sufficient for us when we make a mistake. don't make a lifestyle out of sin

Do you assume that all gay people have sex?

And a lot of things are referred to as "abominations" in the Old Testament. The Hebrew word (to'evah) mean something that's ritually unclean according to Jewish law, such as bacon, poly-cotton blends, and menstruating women.

I don't particularly care for flaming gay people, but I'm a lot more tolerant than I used to be. I am not sure how God views them if they are also believers. I would like to think that they will be accepted in Heaven.

i'm a Christ follower myself. i will supply you the honest answer. And it relatively is the actuality. The Lord has made us for the different intercourse. in case you're christian, you have heard of Adam and Eve. undergo in suggestions - God made it that way, via fact for one its the superb way - it relatively is his way. He did no longer make it Adam and Evan. of course, everyone prepared on earth can serve God! he won't refuse everyone! yet you may desire to seem on the huge image right here ok. of course God needs us to have a dedicated and significant dating with him, yet there is in common terms that one way, and it relatively is not any longer our way - yet his way. we won't exchange it up. you notice what I mean? For us to have a dedicated dating with the Lord Christ, we could desire to stay with what he says and what he needs for us. And he states all of it interior the e book of life - The Holy Bible. God will consistently love somebody, no count number what although. surely, in the journey that your entering into this incorrect direction, pray. God intends for a guy & a females to mate. Then they have infants. Then all over returned. it relatively is the life he made for us. that's no longer something non secular and has no longer something to do with being any particular way. My suggestion is, once you follow the Lord, follow him each and each of ways by way of! <3 I was hoping I helped! <3 (:

So you say you have experimented... But, it did not count because... you had your fingers crossed? What do you think God's mental capacity is, my dear? I would love to be able to be a drunken rock star but, those damn morals keep getting in the way.

Homosexuality is a sin. Sin separates us from God. You do the math.

A person is not saved from their sins so that they may continue in them.
A very clear argument for this is made in Romans.
Sexual sins are the same as any other sin...sin is still sin.
