The leg is the dark meat and is more fattening and the white is better for you. But if your gona eat a small portion in your salad I guess it isn't too bad next time try chicken breast.

The leg is dark meat, which isn't as healthy as the white meat that you would find in the breast.
If you're putting the meat in a salad, go white meat if you want it be healthy as can be.

chicken is almost always a healthy meal of course depending on the way it is cooked. Dark meat is less dry but does have a few more calories and fat. Best to use white meat but either way chicken is very healthy for you.

it depends on what you mean by healthy. the white meat is leaner so has fewer calories. the dark meat is fattier and has more vitamins. there isn't much meat on a leg, so don't worry about using it. chicken meat, either white or dark, is healthier than most other meats. I think dark tastes better and is moister than white meat. whichever you prefer, take the skin off because that's definitely bad for you.

The chicken leg is dark meat, which has more fat than the white meat. But it also has more flavor. If you need to cut down on fat, use white meat, or some of both.

lately i've been getting sick eating chicken so i would say no part! but i think fried chicken (the way it is cooked) makes a difference. I've had 2 bad chicken episodes in the past couple of weeks and the chicken was both fried. Eating the skin tastes good but probably isn't healthy.

Dear Shellsy:
It's a great part expecially if you are a leg man. On a serious note there is less fat and there are those who preferr to remove the skin from a chicken before cooking it.
Enjoy,

The dark meat contains more fat and calories than the breast meat. It's not too terrible if is baked, not fried in grease and you get rid of the skin.
