I'm a big fan of the 20 car, I have been since his rookie year. But sorry, it's not happening this year. With five races to go it's nearly a 200 point lead for the 24 car. With Martinsville next week, that lead will increase (or the 48 will take over the lead). Tony has a couple of good tracks left on the schedule (Atlanta and Phoenix), but in order to win the Cup, he would have to win at least two of the next five and Gordon and Johnson (and also Bowyer) would have to have at least one, if not two, DNFs. But hey, he can always become the first to win a Winston Cup, and Nextel Cup, and a Sprint Cup!

Tony is at the point where it will take more than him dominating the next five races to still have a chance. He needs the top 3 to have significant issues over the next five races as well.
That being said, I'd say that his chances are very slim. But after Jimmie Johnson's comback last year, anything is possible.

Drivers like Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards will need to dominate the last 5 races and hope Gordon, Johnson, and Bowyer have below average races to win, but it is certainly possible. Tony Stewart is the one driver who can go on a winning streak and if he can win 3 of the last races and get a little help like the top 3 doing poorly, he could win it. It's not likely, but very possible.

He still has a chance. There are still 5 races left. The point leaders are due to have a bad race. If they do, he will be right back in there for the championship.

His only chance is that all the drivers ahead of him have problems in a couple of the last 5 races. He cannot win the championship purely on HIS finishes. Even if he is top 5 from here out, with a couple of wins. He IS still capable of winning it all but he is no longer in control of his own destiny. Nobody back from him has even a small chance to win it.

I dont think that he still has a chance. I think that he is too far back to catch up. Truthfully, I think it will come down to Clint Bowyer, Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnson. All 3 of them are the top 3 yes, but they all continue to get stronger and stronger as the races continue to pass.

Well, he is going to need some help, the 24 & 48 are going to have to have some real mulligans, and Tony needs to win some of these last races...

Yes as of right now no one in the chase is mathematically eliminated. But realistically only the 2-7 place have a chance

ok first, this is my team. he doesnt have a chance though. look at this season, he's had some terrible luck. If he had Hendrick motorsports' luck, he'd be in 1st in the chase. Seems like a lot of rookies have gotten in Tonys way this year. And next year he'll be in a TOYota so he'll have THAT going agains him too! What luck!

WITH MARTINSVILLE COMING UP IT'S NOT GOING TO BE EASY UNLESS JEFF AND JIMMIE HAS SOME BAD LUCK
JEFF,JIMMIE AND TONY ARE GOOD HERE
JEFF HAS 7 WINS AT MARTINSVILLE AND JIMMIE HAS 4 (( ? )) AND TONY HAS 3 OR 4
HE WILL HAVE BE BE IN THE TOP 3 HERE AND WIN IN FRONT OF THE 3 GUYS AHEAD OF HIM TO MAKE ANY GROUND!!
JEFF HAS NEVER WON AT TEXAS AND HOMESTEAD THESE ARE GOING TO BE HIS HARDEST TRACKS
TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, YES HE DOES (( ONLY THE TOP 4 HAS A CHANCE))
