It depends on which front you mean-
Death Star Throne Room Front: Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker (on behalf of Luke Skywalker.).
Death Star Space Front: Although it was a costly victory, the Rebels won. One particular noteworthy turning point is when a kamakazie A-Wing starfighter flew through the bridge of the Empire's super Star Destroyer, "Executor". The capital ship plunged like a dagger into the Death Star and exploded.
Forest Moon Front: This was a team effort between the rebel strike force (Led by Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, and Chewbacca) and the native Ewoks, the latter of whom likely saved the Rebels' plans.

Han Solo and the Ewoks disabled the Death Star's deflector shield on the forest moon of endor and the Rebel fighter squadron blew up the death star. Luke barely escaped.
