Yes. Every time I drink Diet Pepsi (I haven't tried the Max yet.) I get a headache a short time later. The other drinks with NutraSweet also give me a headache, except for the Diet Coke products. I switched to Diet Coke and lost 20 pounds because I wasn't drinking the sugar any more. I hate to think what I will have to drink now. I hate tea.

I have to avoid it at all costs. My daughter is intolerant to it to the extent that if she had continued to have it in her diet over a prolonged period it could have led to blindless, brain damage and eventually death. This is obviously not common and the majority of people have no reaction to it. It's in so many foods and drink (the majority of squashes) and any diet or sugar free product. I have to check the ingredients of everything she has which can cause problems at parties where you don't know what squash, jelly etc they are serving!
Companies keep on pushing all their diet and sugar free products to children and adults but Aspartame is a poison that if over consumed by any person can have severe health consequences.

Aspartame is just a sugar substitute. It's not the best for you (because it's harder to digest), but if you need/want something sweet with much less fat and calories, this will most definitely be an ingredient in whatever you choose.

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener. It produces phenylketonurea when digested . Some people are highly sensitive to this and MUST avoid drinking it
Certainly best avoided by all.

Mustard is a secret bulge-buster. That boosts your metabolism and boosts natural ephadrine, the hormone in which burns fat. According to Jeya Henry, professor of human nutrition with Oxford Brookes University, just a tablespoon as part of your food can reduce a flabby waist by 20 %!

All I remember about Aspertame is that they use it in some experiment that have something to do with Rats or something. Other than that I wouldn't use anything that has Aspartame.

Aspartame is NOT a harmful food additive! ALL food additives are required by law to be on a "Generally Regarded as Safe" food list (GRAS) by the FDA. It is not banned in the States (you're thinking of saccharine, although this is no longer banned) and does NOT produce Phenylketonuria. PKU is a GENETIC disorder in which the body cannot digest phenylalanine, one of the amino acid components of aspartame. Soft drink manufacturers are required by law to write that their product contains phenylalanine to protect people with PKU. It is digestible by everyone else.
People, just because a chemical sounds complicated doesn't mean it's bad for you. Many synthetic compounds used for sweetners and flavoring agents are actually BETTER for you than their natural counterparts! Synthetic sweeteners and flavoring agents (which are actually chemically IDENTICAL to "natural" ones) are used in smaller concentrations than their "natural" counterparts (which can contain potentially toxic contaminants!) which give you less "chemical additives" overall.
But then again, everything we eat and drink has a chemical name, doesn't it?

yes, aspartame is very harmful. I read somewhere that it changes into a liquid when it enters cells that is like embombing fluid and causes many side effects like headaches, seizures, lupus and many other....do not drink any sodas with this. do research and see that I am right....

heaper than sugar and fewer calories, and yes you should avoid any kind of chemical used in food, even if it's legal. Stick to natural ingredients in moderation.

It tastes bad, and it provides no nutritional benefit at all.
The question really shouldn't be "Should we avoid this chemical?" but "is there any reason on God's green earth that we would want to stick this terrible stuff in our bodies?"
