it is a glenfield model 10 single shot bolt action 22 rifle with 4x scope it is in excellent condition made by marlin firearms. Right where the stock and barrel meet it is stamped BL on the barrel does that mean anything? I don't need this rifle how much could i get out of it? or does it just vary by gun dealers?

Best case it's worth $100 to a private buyer if it's really excellent condition. If you take it to a shop expect $40-$50.
Sorry, you can't retire on it! Why not clean it and buy some ammo and a few targets and have some fun?
