I can only teach them I information & belief system I have if they choose another path so be it. I would do nothing except sit and discuss with them the points I have and listen to the points they have.
We all have free will.

People do not just come out as something, it is the environment and the people they are around or something they heard, that is why we have a father we can pray to for all things, once you pray about the situation, don't keep on praying about it but thak the Lord everyday as if it already happen, you speak the Word over their life and any situation you want the Lord to change. But always remember to check your walk with the Lord, you will be watched by your child(ren) Faith without works is dead...and the Bible also says dealth and life is in the power of the tongue, you speak negative and death in the natural that is what you will get, and if you speak life that is what you will get... So do not say what your child is saying, you say the opposite as long as it is positive. Jesus spoke the word, find scriptures related to the situation and speak it out of your mouth, and let the devil know who is in charge. speak teh Word of God.

I would still love them unconditionally and look forward to some interesting and thought prevoking debates when they came home for the holidays (assuming they were adults). I would also pray for them with every breath I take. This question only applies to one of my children, since the other two are already saved. I doubt, however, that I have much to worry about because he already loves and believes in Jesus.

I would hope that even families can keep their religious beleifs to themselves on some level, ive seen this very problem and what i have seen is hatefull actions on the part of the religious parents, and desperation for freedom of ideas of the children

I would want to know what points made them chose that belief system, and whether they were actually an atheist or really an agnostic.

I love each of my children equally. I have one Christian, and one not.
I pray for the "not" child, in the hope that she will come around, but I also pray for my Christian child that he remains faithful, even through trials.
My son will soon be a father himself, and I am joyful that he is relying on God to guide him.

May I remind all the other answerers that 'They wouldn't' is a cop-out; it happens all the time. Sorry CC but that's how it is

I would feel sad and that I had failed my child.
I would keep praying for them. I would also look at if they are rejecting Christianity becasue of me.
Most people I know that are atheists had Christianity shoved down them by their parents - I don't want to do that to my kids.

Keep Praying for'em, Cover them with The Blood of Jesus (in Prayer!) and keep on Believing "What GOD Said" instead of what I "see".
Dit==============to!
(it works too!)
