For those mommy's who smoke infront of their kids and in the car with the windows rolled down (do you not realize this rolls back to them)?! Second hand smoking is so detrimental to impairing a kids health. Why do you do it, for those who do it. Why can't you take it outside?

I don't really care why you do it or if you do it but when your lifestyle choices affects your childs health, why can't you be a bigger person and go outside to enjoy a smoke, that way you aren't spreading second hand smoke?! Really, it's just a question.

People who still smoke in this day and age do it because they either feel that the studies are wrong, that there is no impact to their health, have admitted to addiction but dont have the strength to fight it, of just at this point in their lives feel they enjoy it and dont care. None of this is a judgment on smokers (I was a 3 pack a day person myself).

The question here is why do something that could be potentially dangerous to another person, especially your child?

A friend of mine has 3 small children one still in a high chair and she smokes while feeding the girl. This behavior seems very selfish. It is like the parent has made the decision that smoking either isn't going to or cant hurt them so by proxy it will not hurt the kids. Parents this is a mistake. On the occasions i lapse and need a smoke i take it as far away from the kids and other people as i can.

When it comes to smoking regularly around little kids it is pretty much the same idea as playing Russian roulette with a loaded six shooter - it may not effect them but if it does it could kill them.

you are right, second hand smoke is bad for not only children, but everyone else around. But no matter how much you tell a person with an addiction that its wrong, they will never listen.

Because they are selfish. They know it is dangerous and yet they still continue to subject their poor innocent babies to their poison. My parents both smoke and they smoked in their house and car (With the windows UP) even though one of my sisters has severe asthma. My mom smoked while pregnant also, and all 4 of us kids struggled in school due to ADD, brought on by her smoking. People that smoke around their kids do not care about their welfare!

You non smoker are so funny!! I am a former smoker and I never smoked in front of my child, but I find it interesting on how many NON smokers have so much to say about a topic they know nothing about. I understand the second smoke and all that, but everything that we inter act with on a daily basis, can kill us. Walking outside and breathing this polluted air, can kill you. I just wish people would choose their fights, wisely.

Why do you feel the need to enforce your beliefs on other people? If you are a non-smoker, be just that. Your judgement masked as concern will never make a smoker stop. Why don't you do something constructive with your psuedo-activism and stand up for the rights of children who are being hit, molested, negelected, starved, tortured, etc?
In the meantime, us smokers will continue to spend time with our children and not take it upon ourselves to point out everything YOU do that may or may not be harmful to your child's health.

i am guessing they do this because they are addicts
and at that point they are more into what they want
and they need before the child
those people are the ones who need treatment
because its affecting the way they think
and affecting their desision making
like a self brought upon sickness
sad :(
