I totally Agree EXCEPT....
People DID see Jesus and Mary, on earth, and the bible and teaching where taught through word of mouth, even the origianl bible that was destroyed had MORE drawings than words, Kind of like antient egyptian writing. When the white man invaded and destroyed these artifacts, many of us can only reley on the word. Even when the blacks tried to tell them how it was IN THERE ON LAND all the whites would deny it and say their must have been some "lost white tribe" Ha! That's a bunch of bull.

After a long thought of an appropriate answer, i decided to let a happy madison quote effective voice my thoughts: "Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." in conclusion: Catholics do not pray to idols, nor do they worship Mary. Where does the bible insruct to ask others to pray for you? The Pope is not given divine status. The bible gives the Pope power and credibility, see Matthew 16:18. don't try the petros/petra rebuttal, there was no difference in Koine Greek. indulgences? you are aware this is 2008 right? purgatory has nothing to do with babies, it's purification before Heaven. you're thinking(if you can call it that) of limbo again, people are not praying to the statue any more than you're praying to a picture. simple answer is catholics don't worship idols. They do remember salvation comes from Christ, except they believe they should also actively work to do good in Christ's name instead of sitting on the computer making half-baked claims about other Christians.

God said a lot about making images of heavenly creatures or earthly ones. Anyone know what Jesus or even Mary the mother of the Son looked like?
Man is subconsciously making idols white or black. Jesus was Jewish neither black or white.
Man gets caught up in the hype! Making images so they can see something. This represents the Christ or Mary?

While it is true that there are NO pictures of Christ--and the ones we see today are simply an artist's interpretation--only a fool would believe that Christ was black.
Here is why:
Jesus was a Palestinian Jew of the House of Jesse from the Tribe of Judah. He would have been dark skinned like the others of his line, but nothing more than a deep tan. To say that Jesus was black is as silly as saying that he had long hair. Long hair was and is culturally unsound for the Near and Middle East men. Pictures that we have representing Jesus with long hair today are simply artists renditions because in the Middle Ages, when this practice started, that was the hair style for men. It caught on and so artists today still do it.
To argue that Jesus was black or had long hair is to show one's ignorance of historical and cultural facts.

Don't see why I wouldn't!
I always wonder what it does to your psyche to worship an image of people from a different race (especially if historically they've been your opressors). No other race is most known for this, other than black people. Of course there are exceptions, but otherwise the asians worship asian dieties, Indians worship Indian dieties and so on.
I think it leads us to psychologically have self-esteem & self image problems. I'm no psychologists but it makes sense. Plus we all know those types of problems are rampant in the blk community. Seeing black girls with long blonde weave & blue contacts- somehow I doubt its just a different style, & nothing else.

Since the Bible says Jesus was a Jew, I would imagine he looked like today's Jews, Neither White Nor Black. His Color really does not matter, its what He stands for...

Idol worship? No thanks that's what's exactly wrong with Christianity! Even though all three monotheistic religions share similar ideas about God, Muslims have been advised to refrain from depending on any idol for their spiritual needs. It deflects them from the ideal that God is supreme and the one and only true God.

I'm not religious, so I wouldn't hang them regardless of the color of the figure.
However, I must say that if these people really did exist, then they were obviously dark skinned given the region of the world that they supposedly lived in, and not blonde-haired and blue eyed and fair skinned as most drawings depict.
