It is fine. For the most part. Low end beers like Bud have a freshness date because it can go flat and the flavor will be a little off. I have quality beers I'm cellaring that range in age from 1 year to 15 years.
Your biggest problem is you are drinking beer with an expiration date. I recommend moving up to the good stuff.
Edit:
5, I have to argue. Filtered beer is not better beer. I would put an unfiltered wheat up against a bud lager any day of the week. Filtered beer equals different beer. Friday night I had a 2 year old bottle of Bell's Wheat Love Ale, which I believe is unfiltered and was amazed by its taste.

The use by date is merely a guide, advising when the product will be past its prime. Until a few years ago, it did not exhist. As long as the product was kept cool and out of direct sunlight, It will last a long time.

Sure, as long as it tastes good.
The best before date thing is just a measure of when it is "fresh". Filtered beer is better fresh. But some beers will age well.

If it's only 10 days past the date you should be ok. Try a sip, if it's a little nasty, use it to wash your hair. Or you could cook some brats in it????

The 'best before' dates are more about quality than safety.
I think bottled beer improves with age it mellows, I have drunk beer 3yrs old.
