I am open to meeting people and having them IM me, but I dont wanna just strike up a conversation and 5 min later they are asking me what color my panties are! I feel if you are into "dirty" talk go to a different place to find those friends! I am very open to most things but talking dirty with a man or woman (who knows really)! that I just said hello to is a little much for me! I would like to meet some REAL people like me who have a phone and can possibly someday meet. How bout you? Do u lie on line or are you yourself like me? That is my question!

I don't care enough about what these people think in order to lie to them. Most of them aren't very bright and most of them don't have much character. Why bother lying? And why bother trying to sex-chat online, either? There isn't much point in it.

If you want to avoid meeting weirdos, I would suggest not meeting anyone on the Internet, at least not through IMs or anything. Sites like Match.com seem to usually have nice people on them, but I've certainly never heard of anyone meeting a quality person through an IM. I used to have a similar experience with IMs when I was single. I once met a guy on there who claimed to be a fireman, and within moments of "Hi, how are you?" I was getting rather disturbing questions about my various preferences for sex positions, etc. so I just said "Bye!" real quick and signed off. It's a shame what people feel they can get away with just because of the anonymity of IMs. Hang in there- Mr. Right is out there somewhere!!!

i think the answer to you question lies in the amount of people on the internet. i find that when i start a conversation with people there are certain hang ups. people are able to make themselves more interesting or are able to ask questions that they would not really ask in public. i do not seem to make many friends on the internet for this reason. I am confident enough to ask a ladies panties if i meet someone in a bar and the flirting dictates that. saying that though we must have had a pretty good conversation to get to that point. it seems that this faceless internet allows people to say what they feel with no real slap in the face. if i am getting on with somebody and it is pretty rare then i allow them a bit more information about me. so far nobody has come up to my expectations.

The only thing I've ever done like that is placed a personal ad on Craigslist, but even that didn't end well.
You have to be really careful with people these days. Everyone has the potential of being a creep. I don't know why it's become so proliferate.

If you want to meet real people get off the internet.
You IM people and talk with them. People just assume you are looking for a booty call.
if you want to meet nice people go something like eharmony or meet real people in the real world.

It's the Internet , freaks are all over the place . I've never done anything of the sort because I'm not a trouble maker .

I'm myself, but you should probably go to a site like eharmony or match if you want to meet someone that's serious about having a relationship... basically a site where they have to pay to be there. That way you don't get a ton of weirdos looking for a free text hump :)

Rejoice at the weirdos! They make the world more interesting. Just imagine how boring it would be if everybody was the same. Compose a poem in commemoration of those dedicated strange people who work so hard thinking up crazy ideas just to keep you on your toes.
