I want to take my boyfriend to Hawaii for his birthday this coming February but I want to be sure to get a good deal on airfare and hotels and have an itinerary that'll ensure we have a good time. Any suggestions....?

Hawaii is very expensive, you can search www.travelzoo.com now to see if there is bulgain, usually airfare from west coast around $300, hotel in hawaii usually go over $100, most people only visit Oahu, it takes 3 days to see all, some visit Maui, Kauai, big island, they are more expensive, every island has its special.

Hawaii is beautiful, beach, mountain( all came from volcano), and tropical type plants and animal and its culture are total different from mainland USA.

Have fun.

See where is the cheapest to fly to; check to Honolulu (HNL), Maui (OGG), Kauai (LIH), and Kona on the big island (KOA). if you're not particular about what island to go to, the airfare may help you decide.

Once you know which island you want to visit, pick up a good guidebook; I like the ones from these guys:
http://www.wizardpub.com/ and read the reviews of hotels. They even list just the lodging reviews online if you don't want to buy the book. Consider renting a condo in lieu of a hotel; you will save a ton on being able to eat in. Some have minimum stay requirements, so you'll have to look in to that.

Figure out what you want to do - just relax; hike; ocean sports; or see everything there is to see - and then decide where on the island best suits your desires.

Rental cars are very competitive on the market, so shop around. You can get very good deals if you do a little research. It may be worth pricelining, as well, if you're so inclined.

The most important thing is research...so put the time in to get a good deal, and you will! Good luck.

On eBay people list their timeshares. I would check it out. The time shares are all for real...my husband and I had to fax proof to eBay and pay to register with a company. This helps to avoid fraud. You can find some great deals. February is a little pricey around valentines day and president's weekend.

As for airfare....search, search and search! The more you look the more you'll be able to find a good deal.

Itinerary...just find a nice beach and hang out...don't try to do too much cuz then you end up not enjoying the peace and quiet of a vacation.

I took my Mom to Hawaii a couple of years ago. We went to Maui and had a great time. Went to the best luai, we went to two but the first one was not as good as the last one. There are websites for last minute travel which would have hotel information too. I will look up the hotel where I stayed, it was right in town and close to everything

Lots of coupon books in Hawaii you can save $$hundreds of dollars if you are patient enough to look. Many 2 for 1 meals!
