I`ve allways heard that when that when someones parent dies they have to leave their kids at least a dollar. Is this true? Does it matter what state? Not being cold, just wondering.

I don't think they need to leave anything except love.

In the Bible, it says you're supposed to leave enough for the next two generations. Realistically, no one is required to leave anyone anything, especially if they don't have anything to leave. Even rich people die and don't leave their children anything; look at Leona Helmsley, she left tons of money to her DOG and two of her grandchildren got absolutely nothing! So, no, your parents don't have to leave you one red cent if they don't want to. Be glad if they don't leave you debt like some people do! Better yet, cherish the time you have with them now. I know I wouldn't be worried about what mine left behind, I'd just miss them.

i know this answer... not cause i want my parents money either. my granny passed away a few years ago. she had a home and land. a couple 1000 dollars in a bank account. and she was crazy enough to have 8 kids. in order for someone to have things and leave it to their children the law says u have to leave ALL the kids something. that way they cant fight the WILL you have made... so say my granny left 1 child her home and land. and the other children 50 dollars. none of the kids can fight it.
