in Judaism the messiah has certain things that are both the purpose of the messiah and the proof that they are it, that they must accomplish.
if the person has not done these things, then they are definitively not "it".
like I've said before. if you have a broken drain and call a plumber, if the plumber doesn't come and fix it, the plumber hasn't come. an electrician coming and doing something else, but not fixing the drain... then they aren't the plumber your waiting for.
the fact is that none of the most crucial things that are the entire point of the messiah, have occured. thus, its rather obvious, that the messiah has not yet come.
interestingly enough its a common jewish belief that each generation, a "potential" messiah is born, and that if the time is right he will become the one.

For the Christians, the answer is very simple. We have the evidence of fullfilled prophecy.
When you read through the Old Testament, you will find that God gave several hundreds signs to the Jewish people that they were to use to indentify the Messiah when he came. We have copies (such as the Dead Sea Scrolls) of these books which predate the time of Jesus by as much as 400 years. Most of the books themselves are older then that, but due to the fragile nature of the "paper" used, they do not survive.
These different prophecies were fulfilled by Jesus during his lifetime. If you read the book of Matthew, you will find 90 times when he states the Jesus fulfilled prophecies by his words or deeds. Over 60 of the prophecies are quoted within the book of Matthew.
Take a look at just one chapter of the Old Testament - Psalms 22. Here you will find a chapter that begins with the first word Jesus spoke on the cross, and then list over 2 dozen events that he would fulfill over the next 4-6 hours. It includes the words spoken against him by his enemies, that soldiers would gamble for his clothing, that his hands and feet would be pierced (before crucifixion had been invented), that his bones would not be broken after he died, that he would thirst and ask for water, that he would be buried in a rich man's tomb. And many other details.
No other "Messiah" I know of has those types of prophecies recorded hundreds of years before his birth. The prophecies were written by over 30 different "prophets", over a period of 1500 years, yet all agree in pointing to the man Jesus. A feat that is unmatched anywhere else in history.
If someone else wants the title of Messiah, they are welcome to try for it. But they will need 1500 years of prophecies in great detail about their life before they come. Otherwise, Jesus will have to remain the only proven Messiah.

well, Muhammad came as the next prophet but the Jews rejected him because he was from the wrong "clan" or something, but he was a true prophet. The way Muslims will know is that there are many, many, many prophecies. Trust me, everyone will know when it happens. There are already some prophecies being fulfilled like natural disasters will happen increasingly, Muslims will have a hard time in the world (which is getting worse and worse) etc. there are some other big prophecies also, but I think that something like this shouldn't just be mentioned here and there. it's pretty serious and kinda scary. but it's not gonna happen in a couple hundred years or something it's definitely gonna be wayyyy sooner like this generation or the next....

Islam has absolutly nothing to do with any thing from The One True God, The Creator, The God of Abraham... All who follow the deceptions of islam are lost and eternaly seperated from God... as are all who do not come to Him in The Way He prescribes....
The Messiah came and was rejected by the majority of mankind... Christ then commissioned The Church... those who come to God in The Way He prescribes will become part of The Body of The Chruch... Only those of The Chruch will enter Heaven... those are the ones of The True Christian Faith.
The Church is NOT the roman cult either.

I know that unless the Messiah returns as he left in the clouds than he is a false God. Many will claim to be God, only one is the true God.

When Jesus returns this earth we now live on it will be destroyed, along with sin, sickness, pain and tears. There is still sin on this earth, Jesus has not returned yet.
Revelation 21
1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Mark 13:21-23 (KJV) says, "And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: (22) For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. (23) But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things."
There you have it. False messiahs, false christs, false prophets here to deceive.

What's the 3 books mean? And no, because a large population of people, as well as all the babies and small children of the world would be missing. So no worries...yet.
