I've heard that some black women feel that black men who date white women might be doing so for racist reasons (the men might see white women as superior or more desirable), and therefore feel it is a rejection of them as black women.

Also, I've heard that some black women feel there is a shortage of quality black males (the women feel so many black males have succumbed to crime, drugs, and gangs), and they feel it's unfair that the few quality black males are being "stolen" by "outsiders" (white females).

But I don't feel these perceptions are very fair, because these women are making a personal decision into a direct rejection of themselves and a condemnation of the black community as a whole. Personally, I don't think anyone should ONLY date one race, whether their own or another. People should be open to dating all races, and looking at their mates as individuals, not representatives of their entire race.

I'm not a woman, in fact I'm not BLACK or WHITE, I'm
a nice luscious velvety smoothe medium tan, nevertheless
to answer your question, there is still a lot of racism and
jealousy in the world. I don't think white women care as much
as white men when they see a lovely white girl in the arms
of a very masculine black male. Similar regrets are often
displayed by the black female, but for different reasons.
Racist white males feel threatened and in some sick way
feel that the white female promotes him to a higher
society than the black male, whereas the black female
for reasons of being sold out or traded for something of
lesser value just because of the racist mentality in our
society. Black males sometime act in the same fashion
when they see a black female with a white male, often
thinking its for financial gain only. White males don't seem
too "chapped " if they see a white male with a black female
since most of them have had desires for black women
as far back as can be remembered. Historically they feel
they should have the right to all women when we see the
invasion of white oppression onto other countries. This was
their way of infiltrating other racial barriers yet maintaining
their own through the white female. Fortunately this is
coming to an end. Seemingly, black women don't appear
to be too upset when they see a black female with a white
male. Why things are like this? Stems from racist ideology!

They get mad because they are wondering where THEIR good Black man is, and I support that. I go to the club, take 2 hours to get ready only to see most of the Black men are chasing hispanic or white girls. I guess some people don't care about the genocide of Black people. Somewhere along the line these Black men decided that Black children don't deserve to be born. Oh well, I just wonder what it's going to look like 50 years from now.

I live in the NW and I just moved to a big city, Most of the other races here are mexicans, black, asians, or rich white ppl. When I see a black guy with a white girl normally she is a skanky girl and he is a typical thug looking guy(I know there are some good black guys out there so to them it wouldnt apply) but for the most part they are rude. I have bigger boobs and they always check me out WAY more obvious than other races especially white. Im not racist anymore than your average person but its what I see thats around I guess. I dont think it looks good. Maybe if it was an intelligent black man with a good job and a nicely dressed white girl I would see it differently.

Ive seen how black chicks look at those white chicks, and I think thats just in general. Ive been stared down by white chicks many times for no damn reason, I didnt give a dirty look. My fiance told me at work(he works with a lot of black men) that he has heard many of them talking about ******* a white chick and how basically its a trophy **** and thats it. Maybe thats another reason I think the way I do.

That is a good question, I wonder the same thing. I know a lot of black women who get mad when they see a white woman with a black man and I don't understand it either. They say that white women are taking their men..but the black men I know who do date white women say these black girls wouldn't like them anyway. I mean, okay..if I stole someone's boyfriend..be pissed..but if he is single..whose business is it? White men are the same way though when it comes to white women and black men. Some white men refuse to go out with white women who dated black men before. I think it is dumb and it all boils down to jealousy and racism. I don't get bent out of shape when I see a black girl and a white guy...I think..more power to ya! There are good men and bad men...the color doesn't make them either.
Some black women think white women are weak and passive..not this white girl for sure. I think there are some people who seek out interracial relationships for reasons other than attraction or love. Some do it because they are curious. I feel like this..if you like or love someone..regardless of color..good for you. You should not shut someone down just because you are afraid of what the neighbors will say.
As far as your friends and your sister. Your sister should come first. Tell your friends how you feel..if they can't respect you..they weren't your friends in the first place.
There isn't much difference in blacks and whites. I am white and have male and female friends that are black. Some of them have never really been around white people until they were around me and they even trip how much we have in common. I think there are a lot of misconceptions concerning race and until we learn about and hang out with people who look different or who we think are different..this world will never have peace. We are all part of the human race and that is what is most important. Race is just a man made word.

well unfortunatley theres a lot of people that still have these deep seated feelings about races mixing. white parents have told thier daughter to make sure they just date white men and the same with black parents and just datings blacks. well at least little by little these barriors are starting to break down and people date who they want for thier own reasons. i think u should be able to date who u like no matter of race or age or financial class ur in. all u need is love

Its a society thing. I really do not believe we will ever get use to that. Also its how some are brought up. They are told and is also portrayed that the black marry and date the black and the white to the white. And as they grow older their prejudice by what they see, and its often too late to make a decision on their own. A great example of this is religion and politics, how the child grow up with the ideal of the parent. So imagine a family that has history of prejudice pass it on, from one generation to another till today. So the best thing is we break from that and teach our children about interacial relationship and let them know how you feel, how they should feel and let them know to make up their own conclusion on it.

It is so funny that you wrote this question. My best friend is black and her daughter is bi-racial. Now my friend is not prone to only dating black men but she will. Black women get mad because black men think white women are superior being. Most of them only date white women because they are white. They think if you have a white women then she has her **** together. She is going to be smart and sexy. I know this because I dated a guy who had children by a white women and children by a black women. He treated the bi-racial children better than the black children. He thought the bi racial children were so beautiful and were so much better because they lived in a house, dressed nice, had tons of presents for Christmas and birthdays. They pretty much got anything they wanted from him and their mom. on the other had the Black children had to struggle. Well I let him know that he was unfair because he felt white women were superior but he got a black women with a hood mentality and a white girl who had everything handed to her. It was not the color of their skin that made them different it was their class. Middle class and poor. It can not compare. He use to always say I was different. I was an exception to the rule. I let him know that I had more respect for his black baby mother because yeah her children did not have everything but she worked hard to take care of them. She lived by herself. She did everything on her own. Where the white one has only live with him and her mother. She pays no bill. She has no sense of responsibility. I always tell black and white women if you are confident in yourself then no one can make you feel less then.

Honestly I don't know. Everyone has their own hang-ups that's how I look at it. It's a free country I believe that people should date or be in relationships with whoever they want to be. I'm a 20 and I'm black and mixed with some Caucasian and native American but I still consider myself to be black. I get funny looks and stares myself. I even had a woman ask me "what am I?" I asked her the same stupid question "What are you?"

Hmmmm I think maybe its because they feel threatened because they're exact opposites. Either way its stuff like that that keeps racism around. Racism is a learned idea it is not genetics or in peoples DNA. Its what society and cultures teach other by keeping thoughts like that around. Its very upsetting because I've noticed a lot of African Americans are always talking about how they're always being hated on and experiencing all the racism and such but its their actions like that which spread it and give it more reason to thrive.
