How do you keep yogurt/pudding cups from spewing when you open them?

I take a fork or whatever is handy at the time I can use and put a tiny hole in it to release the seal/air.I do this on my coffee to.

Poke a small hole in the cover then hold it so that it opens away from you. Poking a hole in the cover releases some of the pressure that makes it splatter.
