take it from a guy, one way or another you'll have to stick your neck out there a little bit. It's called flirting.

tell him that you don't know what your doing Friday but you'd like to do something and see what he says, if you want to be subtle.

or even something more descrete like talk about appearances and after you ask what he likes in a girl see if he describes you.

If you don't want to tell him straight out, you need to set him up to tell you

if you want that then dont tell him till you are sure. does he stare at u? tries to talk abt random things? calls you for no reason? happens to be there wherever you go? then he does like you and u can let him know expecting a positive reply.
