Yehweh is no more his name than "God". We don't know how to pronounce his Hebrew name because the Jews always wrote it with no vowels. Even the pronunciation of the consonants is a matter of debate.
When Moses asked God for his name, God simply said, "I AM". What he meant is not that his name was "I AM" but rather that God is the one that exists. He has no cause. He exists outside of his creation and is of a different essence than it is. He simply is. Always was, is, and will be forever.
He doesn't need a name because he's unique. There is no other one we need to distinguish him from.
So God with a capital G is a good name for him. He's not "a god" he's "The God".

We do acknowledge Him as Yahweh and there are quite a few praise songs referring to Him as this.In the bible he's referred to as God -The Almighty. It's not generic and notice too God with a capital G which means one God and God overall.
As Christians we believe in one God, one faith , one baptism.Anything else is false and manmade- other gods. These are idols which God detests and says that we should not have any other god before Him.

Moses was commanded to lead the people out of Egypt and he told God, "The people will never listen to me." God told Moses to quit his whining and do what he was told. Then Moses asked God, "Whom shall I say sent me?" God's answer was, "Tell them "I AM" has sent you."
God did not say, Tell them Yahweh. He said, "I AM."
God (capital "G") is specific to the Almighty God, Creator of the heavens and the earth and everything in them.
god (lower case "g") is generic to all of the false gods that man creates for himself.

1) Because Yehweh is not God's name. There were no vowels so it was YHWH.
2) It was blasphemy to utter the name of God.

actually when ewe capitalize "G" in god your making it a proper noun.
god is generally an uncapitalized word.
god is more of a label or title. it basically describes the being your talking about.
like zues, or ordin, or aphrodite or any of the thousands of gods out there. they are a god, but have an actual name.
christians have merely used the term god to name their god. so when speaking about the christian god, you capitalize it.

Well you are right in a sense.
When I say God, I mean the God that I believe in, who has many titles.
YWVH, is translated as LORD in the Bible and I believe the LORD is the ONLY true God so when I say God I am only referring to YWVH.
