What Does God Require of Us?
Lesson 13
How Can You Find the True Religion?
http://watchtower.org/e/rq/index.htm?article=article_13.htm
Paragraph 2
2. The Bible foretold that after the death of the apostles, wrong teachings and unchristian practices would slowly come into the Christian congregation. Men would draw away believers to follow them instead of Christ. (Matthew 7:15, 21-23; Acts 20:29, 30) That is why we see so many different religions that claim to be Christian. How can we identify true Christians?

doesn't matter if Non-Witnesses or Witnesses answer this question. The Witnesses on here can help the Non-Witnesses understand it.

1. Jesus started one true Christian religion. So today there must be just one body, or group, of true worshipers of Jehovah God. (John 4:23, 24; Ephesians 4:4, 5) The Bible teaches that only a few people are on the narrow road to life.—Matthew 7:13, 14. (5. The true religion must also honor God's name. (Matthew 6:9) Jesus made God's name, Jehovah, known to others. True Christians must do the same. (John 17:6, 26; Romans 10:13, 14) Who are the people in your community that tell others about God's name? (6. True Christians must preach about God's Kingdom. Jesus did so. He always talked about the Kingdom. (Luke 8:1) He commanded his disciples to preach this same message in all the earth. (Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20) True Christians believe that only God's Kingdom will bring true peace and security to this earth.—Psalm 146:3-5.

John 3:16 says: 16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

So how would Jesus be God if his Father Jehovah gave his only-begotten Son like John 3:16 said?
That wouldn't make any sense right?
Jehovah is greater than Jesus
Jesus is the Son of God
Holy Spirit is Jehovah's Active Force.

A recent tabulation concluded that there are 10 main religions and some 10,000 sects. Of these, some 6,000 exist in Africa, 1,200 in the United States, and hundreds in other lands.

Many factors have contributed to the development of new religious groups. Some have said that the various religions all represent different ways of presenting religious truth. But a comparison of their teachings and practices with the Bible indicates, rather, that the diversity of religions is because people have become followers of men instead of listening to God. It is noteworthy that, to a large extent, teachings they hold in common, but that differ from the Bible, originated in ancient Babylon.

Who is the instigator of such religious confusion? The Bible identifies Satan the Devil as “the god of this system of things.” (2 Cor. 4:4) It warns us that “the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God.” (1 Cor. 10:20) How vitally important, then, to make sure that we really are worshiping the true God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and that our worship is pleasing to him!

Some of these "wrong teachings" were addressed by the apostles in the epistles. Some of those early churches were teaching error, and Paul warned against that.
I wouldn't call them "different religions" that claim to be Christian. Christianity itself is a distinct religion (compared to Islam, Hinduism or Buddhism). There are various denominations of Christianity, but most of them only differ in the details, for example, the necessity of baptism, sacraments, etc.
A "Christian" church would be one that believes that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, who was born of a virgin, came here 2,000 years ago to be crucified on the cross, then died and was resurrected the third day, and is alive today in Heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father. They believe that He will come back just as He promised.
Religions who don't believe that Christ was the Son of God, or just mortal, are not "Christian", and they usually have their own "holy" books outside of the Bible. If they have this belief, then they have more in common with Islam or any other world religion that is "works"-oriented.

Because there are so many adding to the Gospel and ignoring the Word of God. We are saved by grace ALONE.

True christians follow, believe, and study the Word of God. The Bible.

Anyone who believes that Christ is God is automatically a Christian . Being a member of a church or denomination is not necessary . It's a belief , not a club .

Its not behaving like a christain, its "living" it You don't need to call yourself a christian, the way you live will show that you are christain. So why is it the TheJWS claim to be christain and all other not, They claim that they are the only ones with the truth and everybody else is wrong, it looks like that they are condeming people who do not follow JWS organazation becasuse they say that they are the only ones adhearing to what God says. Do not say it "Live" it!

Ego and Pride of the individuals involved keep them seperated

No one can, for certain, know who is a True Christian and who is not.... I state that I am of The True Christian Faith because I know that I am... but I can not "prove" it to you... no one can... The Truth of a Christian is known for certain only between God and the individual.... there are many pretenders...and there are many who "think" they are Christians because some man or doctrine or "denomination" told them they were... but The True Christian is a small minority and always will be in this mortal world.

NO ONE who only knows the indoctrination of The watchtower society is of The True Christian Faith.... it is much easier to tell who in not a Christian... and the indocrinations of The Watchtower are NOT Christian in any way...

I thought that Jehovah Witness's disliked being referred to as Christian, because it isn't a biblical name?

Forgive me.

Because it is easier to call oneself a Christian than to actually behave as a Christian.
