No, Islam is much harsher.

Fundamentalist anything is intolerant of all that it is not. There are people of all religions who are "moderates" though. I will say from personal experience though, my mosque sent my husband and I to represent our mosque at a "respect fest" that was primarily oriented twoards the LGBT groups and we figured they deserve the message as much as anyone else. All Abrahamic religions and their scriptures do say homosexuality is a sin but I don't deserve this message any more than any gay person. So we stayed for the duration of the fest and handed out every Quran we had and most of our pamphlets. Surprisingly, or maybe not, we were told to keep on bombing people by 2 "partners" one suposedly an ordained minister... how's that for respect?

The head of Iran said that there were no homosexuals in his countries as over here, but no one asked what happened to them.
Your intolerance of "fundamentalist Christianity" supposes a correlation between us and that of Islam, as well as between opposition and bigoted hatred of homosexuals, but neither are the case. A true fundamentalist Christian can never use physical violence to subdue those who attack his faith nor in order to expand it, but they seek the salvation of their souls.
That the practices of homosexuality are wrong and detrimental to both individual and society is clear, and to warn souls of a practice that can send them to an early grave and an eternal Hell is what love constrains

Homosexuality in Islam is a big crime. Allah mentioned in Quran the story of Loot "homoesxuals" people. Allah sent his angel to take thier village from the earth then send it back upside down as a punishment for thier actions. homosexuality is very danger for society. It destroy society. It increases rape, depression and social problems. Most homos got severe depression.
Prophet Mohammed ordered to kill them if they were caught or exposed.
If some body did it in private, he has the chance to repent but he will be punished in his life severely.

I think that if you are gay then be gay... just stop insulting the religious people out there by shoving it in their faces. It appears to me that many Gays are doing their best to insult the religious people these days.
All three of the major religions Christians, Jewish, and Muslims have pretty much the same thing written in their Holy books... it is explicitly forbidden in the Torah, the Koran and the Bible.

I suspect that if fundamentalist Christianity were in charge of the country like fundamentalist Islam is in the ME, they would probably about equal regarding anyone they didn't like.
That includes homosexuals, women, liberals, moderates, biologists, astronomers, geologists, athropologists, archaeologists, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Shintos, secularists, freethinkers, atheists, humanists, UFOlogists, Scientologists...

Sorry, I don't have Qu'ran quotes, but I've seen a good number of anti-homosexual statements from Muslims on the net. I'm not sure if it's something from the Hadith, the Qu'ran, or just the usual human penchant for hate and intolerance. I'm sure there's plenty of Muslims who are as tolerant of homosexuality as anyone else.

According to Iranian president Ahmaniwantajihad there are no homosexuals in Iran. They just kill them.
So I'd say it's significantly more intolerant than fundamentalist Christianity, where homosexual behavior is condemned but homosexual people are loved.

Islam will tolerate as long as they commit their sins in private. If they start it in public, then according to Shariah laws they will be put to death like God put to death the entire town of homosexuals where Prophet Lat lived.

Apparently worse. according to the president of Iraq, there ARE no homosexuals in his country. So either they are hiding out, or they get decapitated whenever they get outed.

Intolerant ?
I don't tolerate what God doesn't tolerate. I also don't tolerate any other sin that is thrust in my face.
There is no such thing as a homophobe. A phobia is a fear, and I have no fear of homosexuals when I tell them that homosexual sex is an abomination in the eyes of God. I've said it to their face many times, with no fear whatsoever.
Actually, it is the homosexual that has the phobia: They have a fear of facing up to the facts that their actions are ungodly and will have dire eternal consequences. They fear that, and rightly so I might add.
Whoever coined the phrase "homophobe" should be flogged.
