So my fiance and I are trying to plan our wedding around our trip to disney world next year and make the time frames work. Our plan is to go to disneyworld for a week with some family. Then find a private beach somewhere close and a planner in the area that will put together something for us and help with ALL the datails. After the wedding we are planning to go on a cruise from there. Does anyone know the name of a company or someone in Florida close to Disneyworld that would be able to put this together and give some prices? Has anyone else been through thisand maybe willing to give a few tips?

Go and join the knot.com then you will be able to talk to brides in the are where you are getting married. The site is free and would probably be a little bit better then yahoo answers. I have gotten answers on the city discussion broads for the city i am getting married in better then on here. I am not saying this is a bad site for wedding info just that one you can pin point an are better. Good luck with your planning and wedding.

Wow thats a lot of vacation! Well ok a week at Disney--but do you want to get married at Disney? The Grand Floridian has a "beach" though its really expensive. The next thing you mention is a beach near Orlando. Well, there isnt really a beach near. Clearwater is about 2 hours and so is Daytona. However then you want to leave on a cruise. Cruise ship leaving out of Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Canaveral or Tampa? You don't want to get married somewhere north of Orlando and then have to drive all the way down to Miami. But a beach in Miami will be expensive, not private.

Have you considered getting married on the cruise ship? Often ships can do great "departure day" weddings, which allow your family to get off the ship prior to the ship's sailing. That would also perhaps save some money and time as you wouldn't have to rent the private beach.

Also, often people get married on Sat and pick a cruise to depart on Sunday. This is easiest as you won't be stressed about getting out of the reception on time. If so, consider booking a hotel on the beach. Many of the hotels have private beaches and are used to doing weddings. You wouldn't have to worry about finding a caterer as well. You could have your reception, everyone could stay at the hotel--which means no one drives drunk. And the next morning, many hotels provide shuttles to the port.

I'd find a local wedding planner down there. First thing, figure out your budget. Then call some bridal stores down there and see if they have any recommendations for planners. Also look at the knot. Once you find a wedding planner they can help you figure out how to drive from Orlando to the beach to the cruise without you or your guests driving all across Florida.

If you want to get married at Disney World itself, they have tons of wedding planners on staff. Look at the website. When you decide to book a Disney Wedding, you will have one automatically assigned to you and your big day. Disney does hundreds of weddings though so if you are high maintaince, realize a private wedding planner might be a better pick. The Disney Wedding Planners don't have the time to talk to you every week.

Also if you have an idea about who you want to officiate, they may have a list of wedding planners they have worked with in the past.

If you arent wanting to get married at Disney and are making this just a family vacation before the wedding, don't overplan everyone in your families vacations. As they said in Sex in the City you get a day, not a week. Realize this is vacation and everyone will be happier if you let that week "come what may" and not try to dictate each hour and dinner each night. It will help keep your stress level down as well.

I hope these are some suggestions you will like. At the best you have to have some idea of exactly where you want to get married and what your budget is. Once you get more of a concrete vision of your wedding, it will be easier to convey that idea to a wedding planner and others assisting with your wedding.

I am an event planner based in NY but I work nation wide. I have a good relationship with Disney World as I have planned twelve weddings with them and two outside of Disney in Tampa and Sarasota. I would be happy to run you up some quotes and find some places for you. I would just need to know if you are looking for something all inclusive, how many will attend, do you want to marry at Disney or somewhere just nearby on a beach, will you be having a party afterwards (Disney does beautiful receptions even if you just want to marry on a beach and not with them). E-mail me and I will be happy to get all the details from you then work you up a package and mail it to you. Congratulations!
