Dysthymia is treated much like depression. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is he best route. Basically you take the thoughts that are upsetting you to and challenge them. Basically you think of an immediate thought that makes you upset and make "What If" statements that help you realize that when bad things happen, there are good things to help.
