Most horrible relationships are caused by people having too high an expection of their partner, wanting to change them or simply not accepting that people are individuals and are not perfect.

I have been with my fella for nearly 8 years and am very happy. We met in a chinese takeaway (I hate chinese food!) - I had been out with my fair share of absolute idiots over the years though and was beginning to think I would never find anyone.

In my view, you have to get along with each other and you have to fancy each other - at some point in the relationship, both things will be tested but you have to work throught it and not make things such a big issue. Accept your man/women for what they are - my chap doesn't do the family thing so, I accept that and do the visiting on my own - however, he has to do birthdays and xmas - that is the compromise! I don't like doing some things my man does but somehow, we come to a mutual arrangement! That is what is all about! I don't tolerate jealousy, I am independent and so is he - we are still individuals even though we are in a happy, stable and fun relationship.

My BF and I have been together for over 5 years now, and we are so happy together! We met at the Light Rail stop (the Light Rail is our local public train system, kind of like an above-ground Subway) when I was 22 and he had just turned 21. We were pretty much inseparable after our first date that same night. We've lived together for almost three years now, in our little apartment with our bulldog.
We have weathered a lot together- job layoffs, difficult roommates, family troubles, etc. but it seems we grow closer every day. Sure, we fight, because we're both so stubborn and independent and strong-willed, but at the end of the day, we know it will always be the two of us.
Even though we've been together so long, we still act like sweethearts who just met. Just the other day he stopped and got me my favorite flowers, daisies, on his way home from work, "Just because." He also does cute things like leave me little Post-it love notes on my bathroom mirror where he knows I'll find them first thing in the morning.
We're not rushing into marriage, as you can see, but I think it is going to happen in our very immediate future, now that we're both making decent money and everything. I'm fairly certain my BF will turn into my husband within this decade, LOL. Have a great day!

We met at a bar one night, courtesy of a mutual friend. There was an instant attraction and we fooled around over the next few weeks but neither of us were ready for the relationship. We vowed to stay friends and that's what we did! About 3 years later, we "accidently" slept together but again, didn't proceed. Six months later, it happened again. This time, we reacted. I realized I loved him and I didn't want to be around him anymore until I was over him. So I called to have the gut-wrenching conversation with him. Before I could tell him how I felt, he told me he's in love with me. He's loved me for a very long time and can't imagine his life without me. We've been together for 1.5 years and are moving intogether soon. We're heading towards marriage and kids, we're still best friends and I love him more and more each day. Thank You for asking. I feel the way you do sometimes too and it's nice to hear about love and the good relationships too. :-)

Well me and my boyfriend have been together for about a year and a half now .
When me and him first met he was like in love with me .
Me and his sister was really good friends so he kept trying to get her to talk to me.

He is really good looking , and I didn't understand why he wouldn't ask me for my number or such .
But one day was were by the water and cayce ( his sister ) asked me if I wanted to come up to her house and chill and I agreed. When we got there, i saw a rotweiler and I am petrified of them so he grabbed me around my waist and I knew right then and there I was already falling for him .

He asked me out the following day .
Now we live together and we are having a little boy in march .

Is this inspirational enough.

A boy and a girl were having a secret relationship because the girls father didn't agree with her seeing boys. They loved each other very much and couldn't live without each other for more than a few days. The boy was in his last year at school, and although his girlfriend didn't know, his parents has always tried to push him to join the army when he left school... but he didn't know whether he could leavehis first real love. In the end he told his parents he was in love. They hated him for keeping this from them and said he would go whatever happened. They also told the girls parents, causing aot of trouble. When it came to the time for him to leave, he just couldn't tell his girlfriend, and passed on a message to a friend of hers which was given to her. It read:

My *****, i hate you and always have.
I have to leave and i am so happy to leave you.
I used you for your smile and your personality.
I hated just being around you.
I don't want to see you ever again.
I won't write to you & i hope you don't write to me.
I hate you,
Danny.

When she got this message she was devistated and didn't know what to do, she meant everything to him.
She rang him crying asking him why.
He said "Oh, i forgot to tell you, i knew your dad would end up reading it... so i translated it.
My *****=My baby
Hate=Love
Won't=Will
Don't-Do
Used=loved
Happy=sad.
She cried with happiness and said" I love you baby"
The next day Danny knocked on her door.
I couldn't leave you baby, he cried.
She fell into his arms and they grew old together.
=) xx
