I got fillings at 14 now at 20 i have only four from the back up and down the rest are gone. Did the denists do a bad job or do they not last forever?

Filings will not last forever. The junction between the filling and the tooth will leak and eventual form decay. Insurance companies will usually pay for a replacement of a filling every two years as they realize this is normal (although they should last more than two years). Most fillings that are done are replacing old fillings. Most likely, your dentist did nothing wrong

They don't last forever, but I am surprised that you have lost a few in such a short time.

I recently lost my first filling but it was originally filled 25+ years ago.

They don't always last forever. You probably swallowed them when they came out while eating something. You need to see your dentist and get them replaced. I am surprised your dentist didn't say anything when you saw him at your last 6 month checkup/cleaning. Call your dentist now and get seen.
