The whole time I worked there, no matter what title I had, I was always the one who got to "bounce" people out of the bar for various reasons because of my size (6'6", 230lbs). In one of these "bounces" I got punched in the face really hard, I hurt for days after, but I seemed ok. This company never had any kind of insurance like workman's comp. or anything. About 1.5 years after I stopped working there, and had 2 teeth shatter while I was eating. I went to the dentist, who took x-rays and told me that the root to these 2 teeth had been broken, causing the teeth to die which made them brittle, and thus shatter. The dentist asked me was if I had ever been in a fight or car wreck. Having never been is a car wreck, I quickly remembered the fight from years past. I went back to the company, and they refused to pay or help my pay for the dental bills or the help with getting these 2 teeth replaced.
What is my legal recourse for them not having any kind of insurance and not paying?

If you're in the US workmen's compensation is mandatory for all employers.

If an emploee is injured on the job they must provide the employer written notice within (3) working days of the incident. The bar is required by law to have workmens compensation insurance. If not you could have sued for the medical cost.
Unfortunately since so much time has passed there isn't much you can do. You could hire a lawyer but the costs of litigation and fees would probably be as much as the dental costs. The main issue is you would need to prove the injury happen while you were employeed by the bar and without any type of documentation that is going to be very difficult.
I guess you best chaulk this up to a lesson learned.

you will could call an criminal expert. human beings freak out beause they be attentive to legal experts have a area of interest that no person is acquainted with approximately. the place I stay you have 2 years for the business enterprise after which you're screwed. in case you had a police record carried out (which I by no potential did till that they had a gun or destruction of property) you would be waiting to sue them (the guy who hit you). call a team of legal experts. tell them basically such as you wrote it right here, yet basically tell them with regard to the activity you have been hit, had no earlier problems and now your tooth fell aside and your dentist suggested it became into from a combat or motor vehicle harm. i became into struck in doing my activity. am i able to be compensated. this is that easy. legal experts seem at this as a cut back and dry component and don't get a rats cheese with regard to the icing. Now undergo in innovations that any criminal expert you confer with would be wanting to pay attention your tale and in the event that they are in a position to make money (damages) for you. So call till you have gotten quite a few solutions. you could nicely be waiting to pay an criminal expert to sue and in case you win get all of it lower back plus the tooth. If the obstacles are up then this is too late. do no longer difficulty approximately talking with a criminal expert, that's what they do and in the event that they gained't talk on the telephone with out you entering into call yet another one. all of them supply a unfastened ahead consultation. desire you may get help with this. The bar onwer could have had like "homeowners" insurance to cover in many cases occurring individuals and according to danger it applies. The criminal expert may cause them to examine the coverage and it they do according to danger you could desire to tell the guy/gal (proprietor)you will pay the deductable as tooth are no longer low value. Take care.

unless you filed an "incident report" at the time of the event, there probably isnt a lot you can do at this late juncture. I am guessing there is a statute of limitations by which you must file that report by, (my guess would be 12 months) but I would check with an occupational injury attorney or www.dol.gov (dept of labor website).

UNFORTUNATELY, IF THERE IS NO DATED POLICE REPORT ON THIS ASSAULT ON YOU THERE'S NOT MUCH THAT A COURT CAN DO ON THIS CASE.
THE THING TO DO IS JUST REPLACE THE TEETH.
YOU MAY ALWAYS SUE THE GUY WHO PUNCHED YOU IN CIVIL COURT, JUST BRING DOCUMENTATION FROM YOUR DENTIST AND THE BILL YOU PAID.
