i'm sorry your dad is ill... and for your pain. sending all my sympathies.
i took care of mom until she died, and it was one of the best things i could do. i hold on to the good memories, and i remember all the wonderful things she did for me while she was alive.
my father has cancer, and he abused me all his life, darlin, cancer is too good for him... i don't even like the man, and never will. i can't think of anyone who does?
we all leave our own legacy -- whether good or rotten.

I'm so sorry that this happened. There is nothing worse than seeing your parents when they're really sick. I went through this with my dad, and it tears you apart. I know just how you feel. Fortunately, the good memories will eventually crowd out the frail and helpless memories, and the strength and vitality that are your father, will be foremost in your memories. Try as much as you can to see this in him even as he's in the hospital. It will help you and it will help him too.
God bless you and your father, and please know that you are in my prayers. And I'm a firm believer that prayer heals and is effective.

So sorry about your Dad. Its so difficult when we get to the stage of life where we have to watch our parents begin to fade.
My mother has a terminal brain condition and we have been warned she will eventually go blind, even more deaf, immobile and will loose all her faculties.
I'm just trying to enjoy her while i can. Good Luck.x
Karen H - have tried to reply to your email but it does'nt seem to go through. How is your friends son?x

Its ok honey.......crying will help, hope your dad gets better soon. What you are learning now remember for your own kids and try and stay healthy. in the meantime, be there for your dad, do what you have to, and shed a tear if you have to.
But take care yourself, he will need u when he comes home. Chin up! I will think of you. x

sorry to hear about your dad . i would like to say things will get better , unfortunately i know from experience they don't!!! (until the suffering stops) then its that roller coaster of loss , guilt ( with no reason !!) and generally feeling like ****. was in your position with my grandad a few years ago (whom i was very close to ) i became a carer with my nan because she couldn't cope alone.he died 12 years ago and i still feel like hes with me when i sit and think. sorry babbling , good luck.

You hang in there, honey. I'm sure this is very very hard for you. I DO appreciate my 80 year old - healthy Mom - who just won her battle with breast cancer. I will call her today and tell her that I love her and appreciate her - just to honor you and your Dad - 'kay?
Blessings!

We all tend to forget our parents will get old one day. Thank you for making me stop and think about it, we take our parents for granted and never think about the day they might need you. You've started me off now. Hope you have all the support you need at this time. xxx
