Its not a true breed. Sounds like a cross between a Shiba Inu and a Poodle.

It's a mutt, and if they're calling this the latest "Designer" breed, some greedy shmuck is going to try to charge you 1000's of dollars for a mixed breed with no registration and no health guarantees. DON'T FALL FOR IT!

Adopt a nice mixed breed instead- safe a life- don't help GREEDERS create more mutts!

EDIT: Contact a trainer NOW- get a recommendation from your vet if you don't know any dog trainers. You have a responsibilty to your children AND to the dog to make sure it behaves properly or this dog will end up dead or in a shelter. Get it neutered- get it trained- and tell other people about the rip-off that happened to you when you thought you were buying a 'designer' dog.

EDIT 2: Lilli- you are clueless. And if your studies don't teach you how to spell 'studying', then you are hopeless, as well.

This is a mixed breed dog aka "Designer dog" I'm guessing a cross between a Shibi Inu and a Poodle. Look here
http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/purebred.htm
for information on both breeds.

Refrence Lili comment this dog is a mixed breed or more speciffically a cross-breed. A hybrid is a combination of 2 diffrent species not two types of the same species.

Ok these people are all wrong there is a Shiba-Poo. I have one. They are not mutts they are Hybrids. Every dog is not pure. the first dog is a wolf and now the AKC reconizes over 100 breeds. If you were to do a DNA test on any dog and compare it to a wolf's DNA there would be one part that is the same no matter how small. I also have a Pom-Chi
When he nips put your hand around his or her muzzle and shake it for 3 seconds.this will cause the dog a tiny bit of pain. Dogs do not like pain so this teaches him that nipping is a bad thing and the punishment is slightly painful. Also try reading "The Art of Raising a Puppy" by the monks of New Skete.

It's a cross between a Shiba Inu and a Miniature or Toy Poodle. Did you see one of these dogs and thought it was cute? If you want to learn more about what this mix COULD be like, read up on Shiba Inus and Poodles. Any/all combinations of their traits and looks could be what you'd get.

Please don't support breeders who breed mixes or pet stores that sell puppies - you wouldn't believe the heartache involved in the breeding of some animals to death.

Look at all the Shiba Inu dogs in need of rescue - maybe there's one that you could take home...

That's because it's not a "breed", it's a mutt. It's a mix of a Shiba Inu and a Poodle, which means that anyone intentionally breeding it is irresponsible.

Just having a cutesy name doesn't make it a "breed" or a "hybrid" or a "designer" dog - it's a mutt.

Don't get me wrong - mutts can be wonderful dogs. But they shouldn't be intentionally bred, and they certainly shouldn't be bought for hundreds (or thousands) of dollars simply because the buyers are too naive to realize that it's not a breed.

It's not a breed, it's a mutt - Crossbred Shiba Inu and Poodle.

Anyone that tries to sell you one is a scam artist or puppy miller selling mixed-breed dogs as a "Designer Breed" for big bucks.

Edit - If it's nipping, you need to train it NOT to - All puppies bite/nip until otherwise trained. Sorry that you got ripped off on a over priced mutt...

It is a mixed breed. A mixed breed is a result of people allowing dogs that are not the same breed to reproduce.

There are lots and lots of mixed breeds in shelters.
