Definitely so. If you have no trust in your partner it will just cause conflict which will leave to breaking up/divorce.

No - not every relationship has to have trust - but every GOOD relationship has it.
If you don't trust the other person - you cannot be at your best because you are looking to be harmed in some way. If both or even one of the people in the relationship are in that state - it's not very functional - or GOOD.

Yes, if you can't trust a person that you are in any type of relationship with, then how are you supposed to know the relationship is even real? There has to be some sort of trust somewhere.

I believe every relationship should have at least a bit of trust in it. Even those strange, seeing-you-behind-my-lover's-back (horrible) relationships need you and your homewrecker to trust each other to not tell your current lovers as well as making sure they're clean! =O
But if you're referencing a "normal" relationship, as in dating, short-term, or long-term, trust should be one of the main pillars of the relationship. Without it, you'll constantly be in a state of insecurity and angst. Worse yet, paranoia might consume you if you even see your lover talking to another person. With it, you set the foundation for a steady and durable relationship.

Ofcourse it does. Why? Because without trust there is no relationship. No matter if its just friendship or something more, you have to know that you can tell that person anything and it will never be repeated or used against you.

All realtionship are built on trust. If you are constantly worried about what your mate is doing when your not around, things will never work out. And if you mate has done things to lose or question your trust, maybe you shouldnt be with them anyway...
