I need this to record mini-DV tapes onto a computer hard drive.
I just cannot find any websites that offer these for sale. Thanks!

Not a lot of companies are selling these anymore. everyone has gone digital. have you tried eBay?

This is what i got at B&H photovideo for about $1600.
Panasonic AG-DV2500 Professional DV Editing VTR with RS-422, SMPTE Time Code, NTSC/PAL
The firewire/1394 computer connection works fine with my vista computer.
They also have some lower priced JVC units that might work for you as well.
