These are always a hit. Flatten out the bottom layer before putting on the frosting, cut into even squares.

SCOTCHAROOS

INGREDIENTS
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
6 cups crisp rice cereal
1/2 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS
Generously butter a 9x13 inch baking pan. Set aside.
In a large pot, mix together corn syrup, sugar, and peanut butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring until peanut butter melts. Bring mixture to a boil. Remove from heat, and stir in crisp rice cereal.
Transfer mixture into a well buttered 9x13 inch pan. With your hands well buttered, pat it down into pan.
In a medium saucepan, over medium low heat, melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips until smooth. Spread over top of bars and let bars cool. Cut into squares.

You can go to a cookbook and get all the recipes you want. Then you could experiment and see whicjh ones you like and would be easy and economical enough to make.

My convern: HOW AND WHERE AND FOR HOW MUCH are you going to sell those baked goods?

Is your location large enough where there is an indoor flea market where you could sell your goods?

Are there lots of churches/temples/mosques of your religious denominationwhere you could go on a regular basis to sell those goods?

The holidays are coming up. You could sell baked goods for the holidays, couldn't you? But what are you going to do after the holidays? The next major holiday whem baked goods may be of considerable effort and use MIGHT be Valentine's Day OR MAYBE St. Patrick's Day?.

These are only a few of the Qs you have to consider and get answers to.

Once again, thanks for asking. I probably gave you a lot more Qs you need to get answers to.

VTY,
Ron

I would sell baklava. You can make two large batches with one package of phyllo dough and most people love it!! It will take about 1 hour to make it.

I will cost about $15-$18 for two 9x13 inch pans (about 72 pieces of baklava or 25 cents per piece to make). I use walnuts, they are very good in this recipe and are much cheaper than pecans. I also only use 2 cups of nuts per pan (the baklava falls apart if you use more).

Here is a good recipe:

The most affordable would be to make sugar cookies with royal icing. You can make it fun by using various cookie cutters. Good Luck.
