Don't get me wrong, I do believe that they have the best out there. But some people act like they're fielding CORvettes while the rest of the teams are fielding CHEvettes. I think that some Jr. fans are in for a rude awakening next year, because the equipment is not the main reason why HMS drivers are so successful. Please don't get me wrong, I like Jr., but I don't think that he's going to experience immediate success once he switches to Hendrick.

For those of you saying people, remember something. Dale Jr. picked his own crew. He's stated in interviews that he'd rather be surrounded by friends and not win than win a championship with people he didn't know or like.

Its not just equipment, but the people who put it all together. All the top teams have have top-notch equipment, but its one particular team's ability to pull together the right package of driver, crew chief, pit crew, shop crew, and equipment that determines their success. Like Kurt Busch said a couple months ago, Penske Racing had all the tools necessary to be successful but were struggling early on. The addition of Pat Tryson helped round out their package and they began winning races.

As for Dale Jr, I believe he will be getting into only slightly better equipment when he moves to HMS, but will be getting better overall support because of how strong the HMS shop is. If Tony Eury Jr and himself can quickly meld into the HMS fold, there overall performance should definitely increase.

The big advantage to Jr will be the dependability and consistency of the HMS equipment. It's not that their stuff is THAT much better than say JGR's or Roush/Fenway's, but they seem to be more even from the top teams (24 and 48) down to the 25 team. That's one reason HMS leases motors to several teams. Just look at where Jr would have been this year without all the DNFs, safely in the chase. Even though the equipment there does not MAKE them successful at least it isn't the reason for them NOT being competitive. I think most Jr fans just want him to have a chance at winning when he's running top 5 towards the end of a race. If you give Dale enough chances he will close the deal eventually.

A lot. If your willing to think about all the years that HMS, RCR Rousch have been at this and the amount of money and backing they have it is no wonder they are at the top every week.
I strongly disagree with you on your rude awakening comment. If you look at Jr's career with DEI he has fallen down in the standings just like DEI has fallen by the way side with their technology. She has realized this just a bit to late. I could be wrong but I doubt it. I have been around this racing stuff for over fifty years and that doesn't make me a know it all but I do have a strong feeling that he will shine more than he ever has ove at HMS.
I think he and we are going to see a difference right off the bat. Whether you like it or not he is a pro driver and he will be able to adjust and don't forget the cousin is all ready there getting use to things.

Hendrick Motorsports is on th top of the nascar world because they put the time, money and thought into their decisions of how to put race teams together. The 24-48-25-and soon to be 88 will dominate again and again because they know what they need to do to win races and the drivers themselves know how to get to the front. Casey Mears is learning and gettin better after each race. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson have always been on top or their games and now Dale Jr. sees what Rick Hendrick is willing to do to get wins and stay on top of Nascar. Watch out for HMS in 08

Think about it, how many blown engines does HMS have this year? None that I can count. DEI's had 11 blown engines 2 more than the next team MWR(yup even more than a Toyota team). Remember this Truex had an engine blow in 75 laps at Fontana in Feburary. The only reason DEI made any advances this year was DEI guys sneaking over to JR Motorsports and using the equipment there.

People,Equipment, Communication...Three things you have to have in racing...When you have the best people, put them with the best technology and equipment...Then the driver, crew chief, pit crew and the people back at the shop with great communication..That package wins races and championships...HMS has it all together its a total package.. Now..Dale Jr and Tony Jr will have to do this the HMS way..Dale Jr is going to have to let Tony Jr his crew chief call the shots, and not Dale Jr tell Tony J what to do like he has done at DEI....If it goes the HMS way...they will have success. I'm not saying he is going out there and win his first race...but they will succeed...doing it the HMS way...

Go Dale Jr and Tony Jr and HMS in 2008

The Jr. nation is so happy and full of bull---- that he is going to HMS...what would the reaction be if Jeff or Jimmy a couple years ago (the last time Jr. won a race) would defect over to DEI because Hendricks would not give them his business...the beer can mob would think it was the end of the world...now they think Jr. is going to be the salvation of HMS along with their looser being totally welcome by the HMS supporting fans...like putting a piranha in a bowl of goldfish....
