Company name does not matter. Master Card, Visa, store cards, education, car loans - all of them will work if you handle them responsibly - paying on time and do not max them out. I personally prefer regular Master or Visa with no annual fees and rewards: Chase and Citi are offered the better benefits in my opinion. You'll be good if you qualify for their cards. Store cards usually have higher interest. Sometimes you need to start with cards that require annual fees. I am sure you're getting a lot of junk mail with preapprovals. After half a year of using them it does make sense to switch over to cards with no fees attached.
Good luck,

Go to your bank first. You may have to start with a secured card.

You could try a store or gas credit card. They seem to be easier to get. Use the card and pay it off in full every month. After 6 months, you can apply for a major credit card.

Try Capital One, they have a higher interest rate however are easier to get a credit card with. Also try taking out a small personal loan to help establish. Just be sure you keep up your monthly payments.
Good Luck
