of the $100 million it took to renovate a *church* of his will make him less popular?
Also, for the believers: what do you think of his church having no religious symbol but an electronic display of the american flag?
Isnt that secular?
Thanks a bunch

Just because he's blessed, why are you jealous? If His blessing is to have a 100 or 200 million, or 1 billion invested in a church then why are you concerned? If others are being blessed and ministered to, (that the secular humanists have thrown on the garbage heap of life and turned their back on) then why are you envious that they are able to get the help they need?
Being that pastor Olsteen is a non-denominational, "religious" symbols are of no importance whether it's a cross or electric display of our American flag. What's important is that the hungry are being fed, the homeless ae being housed, and the widows are being ministered to.
Who cares what's in your wallet, its what's in your heart that counts. If God want to bless a pastor with a multi-millons or billions for his ministry, then so be it and get over it.

I didn't see it, but I have my opinions about Joel Osteen. If people are happy to go to his church and give lots of money, he and the church board can use it how ever they see fit. The huge stadium where they meet probably did need renovations. As long as he is not lying to the people, don't worry about him. The flag is a good sign for the church, although I hope the cross of Christ is preached in the church building at times.

I missed it.
Joel Olsteen seems like a really nice guy. Good intentions. Fuzzy and warm feel-good message.
The few times I've actually listened to him, he seems more like a soothsayer than a preacher. The lack of religious symbols is interesting.
If someone wants to learn about my faith in Jesus, Joel isn't the one I'd suggest listening to.

first of all i will pray for you.....
Being a christian i can tell you i don't care what i worship in, a backyard, a big church or a one room trailer. its just the point of worship. Christianity is so misunderstood. i personally believe that you have to have a forgiving heart and be open minded to even conserve the truth about Christ. and about Joel i think he is a great motivational speaker and Christan man. he might make a comment or 2 that may make him look fake be neater me or you can make that call because how are we to judge him, i know i don't want to be judged. good luck and try to relax a little about live.

I watched that as well, I do not think that his tears were "pseudo melodramatic" as you put it, but then you are biased.
I myself do not like his 'good things only' style of preaching.
I agree mostly with the Biblical Theologian they brought in during that special, however I cannot deny that he has had a powerful effect on the lives of numerous people, a positive effect at that, nor can you.
As for the absence of the Cross or a Dove, that makes no difference wether one is displayed ot not.

Which phallus should be there? Joel has a good heart . His fathers church was not very popular or rich. His church reaches many ,that others can't.
GOD BLESS

People are drawn to him, psychologically because of his messages. All any one person or animal wants to be is happy. His messages spew that if one does x, y, and z, one can be happy. While I disagree with him, as long as he doesn't cause any harm or suffering in the process of his activities, I'm not sure I'm terribly worried about labels in his case.

Totally secular and even if it weren't, Christ said that " Wheresoever two or three are gathered in my name, that is my church." so I find it hard to imagine he would have approved of this renovation. It ought to make Olsteen less popular and if his congregation are followers of Christ rather than of Olsteen, it will.

He's a total freak and I am just dying to see what scandal he is going to be embroiled in. It is just a matter of time until he joins the list.
