You have some good picks there, but I think Sony's big hit will be Assassin's Creed.
I know that the game is multi-platform, but the rumor is that it might end up on mulitple discs for the 360. Sure, Rockstar said that GTA4 will run better on PS3 and be on multiple discs for 360...but that's in April, which is a long way away. It's easy to pass it off because it's in the far future (at least by gaming standards.)
Assassin's Creed comes out on November 13th, almost a year exactly since the PS3s launch. If it releases on multiple discs for the 360, it will be a huge technological statement for Sony. "Look at us! The 360 was out a year longer and we've already surpassed it."
Ubisoft says both versions will be identical, but switching discs mid-game is not something that can be ignored.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is going to be the biggest seller for 2008. Every 360 fanboy has been wishing that this game would come out for the 360, but their little hearts got broken when Kojima said it was a PS3 exclusive. The same can also be said for MGS Online.
I think only Killzone 2 would be considered the Halo killer because it's probably going to be the best FPS for the PS3. Haze is getting a lot of good reviews and publicity, but it's going to be kind of tough for a new franchise to dethrone Halo 3.

Metal gear will obviously sell the most out of those (i don't think Haze has the profile to create enough hype, but ought to sell well, Killzone 2 needs to prove itself as being more than just hype (which i hope it does) to avoid being lumped with its predecessor)
I think Gran Turismo 5 is another big Sony-exclusive franchise which has the history and class to make PS2 owners think about upgrading.
Another decent PS3 seller in europe at least will be Pro. Evo. soccer 2008. Although it is cross-platform, its heritage is very much Playstation.
I also think Little Big Planet is another one which could well shift consoles. Its distinctive style plus user developed content will draw some attention, hopefully.
Oh, and then there's FFXIII !
So, the future doesn't look too bad....

I mean come on. You're talking about a 360 vs PS3? There's clearly no competition. It's bluray vs a box of dead paper weight. Halo's basically the only game that launched the XBOX. Really, how many "GOOD" games are there for the XBOX. Besides, even till this day, the PS2, I'm talking about the PS2!, is making a as much sale as the 360. And how many decades has it been since the first release of the reputable PS2? But imagine when the PS3 drops its price. Everyone including the XBOX fanboys are going to forget what a XBOX is and even how it looks like. Also 1refuse2looze4, how stupid can you be? For your information, the chips within the XBOX/360/peice of junk, or whatever you call it, is made and assembled in Japan, dumb peice of sh!t. Know your sh!t before you talk it. PS3 is soon to take the gaming industry by storm.

Well, you're forgetting Metal Gear Online.
That's supposed to be pretty awesome.
But Metal Gear Solid 4 should be the killer single-player app for the PS3, but I don't know if anything could kill the monster that is Halo 3. Or why would you want to? It's a great game.
Let's not discriminate, and love all games equally

relies upon. Halo ODST is popping out in September 22, mutually as CoD4 MW2 is popping out sometime in November if I keep in mind properly. I fairly like enjoying Halo video games noticeably as much as 3 yet i think of ODST is in basic terms extraordinarily milking it. fairly it sounds as though like a remodeled Halo 3 the place they extra in some new stuff mutually as removing another minor stuff this is fairly significant to campaign. ODST is in basic terms yet in a distinctive way of asserting "howdy we could upload 3 extra maps, and throw in a Horde/Firefight mode, with a non so epic as Halo 3 campaign mode." no longer something present day in my opinion. yet with MW2 they have extra host migration, throwing knives(looks slightly unrealistic), new weapons , and lots lots extra. Now this is nicely worth merchandising extra!

Eight Days and Killzone 3 will probably be the massive hits.
However, if you want to talk about Halo 3 killer, BioShock blows Halo 3 out of the water.
