I think Agnostic would be more appropriate than Atheist, merely because one cannot believe or disbelieve in the existence of something until they are psychologically capable of comprehending it at least conceptually. But your premise is correct.

I am not a Christian but as a child I was and it had nothing to do with indoctrination as I was the only member of my family who attended church. I made the choice of my own free will and attended from about the age of 6 to about 9 or 10. I found the lessons absolutely fascinating although soon spotted all the anomalies and was more of an irritation to the vicar than anythng else.

Do you have a conscious, since I know you do I don't have to tell you when you do something wrong do I. Your conscious tells you. I guess an ape or bacteria or a big bang had a conscious, I don't think so. The Bible says to look up and know that I am God. Where did your conscious come from, why is it when you were a child you did just the opposite of what your parents told you not to do. Big Bang huh, you had better get out your Bible and start reading it. It will tell you that your sins seperate you from God, thats why Jesus Christ came into the World. To shed his blood on the cross at calvery to wash away our sins with his perfect blood sacrifice. Jesus was human yet did not sin. He is the only one. There is no other way to Heaven. Now if you want to believe in nothing God willnot force you to do anything else except die and be judged. But own judgement day if I am right and you are wrong hell is where you will spend eternity and I will be in paradise. Think about it. Its the most important decision you will ever make. If you would like to accept Jesus as your Saviour say this simple sinners Prayer believing, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

that is innaccurate.

the reason it is innaccurate is that somewhere, someone had a religious belief before being indoctrinated. They had to imagine a belief system to create one.

therefore, it is more accurate to say that I was an atheist until I embraced fantasy, and therefore became religious.

The first theist had to engage in fantasy without indoctrination. People still engage in fantasy invention without indoctrination.

For example, people escape into unreasoned fantasy and imagine a grandy conspiracy killing JKF, when really, it was one man named Oswald. People escape into fantasy and say Cheney blew up the twin towers, rather than accept that evil terrorist theists did. People assume aliens, time travelers, and all sorts of rubbish and fantasy without indoctrination.

Your idea is right, but your causal relationship lacks a rational course. Rephrase and you will be there.

That's a lie. I believed in God as a very young child, but I wasn't yet saved. Common sense alone dictated to me that the trees, me, and every form of life had a creator. I did not need mere man to convince me, life in itself convinces me. And as I have "continued on" trusting, believing, serving, obeying, God has made Himself known to me in the greatest of ways. I have spiritually grown from "God" to "Lord" for that is who He is to me, my Lord because anyone can have a Saviour, but very few have made Him Lord of their lives.. I was hell-bound / an atheist before I accepted Jesus into my life, and my family had nothing to do with my walk with the Lord because I have always walked alone in my family.

The test of a Christian is to respond to the truth. I have know plenty of children who responded to the truth. So I doubt that you have a correct assessment of what Christianity is, and also what the truth is.

actually i would think you are wrong... It is proven that some of the most primitive cultures never reached with the word have a knowledge of some sort of supreme being because of their own observations of nature.

Try thinking before typing, you might find it a fun and interesting endevour.

Did you know that you weren't an athiest until you were old enough to learn about religion and to then choose not to believe in a God?

You can't be religious OR non-religious until you are old enough to think through it.... so you made a point that is pointless.
