I think most of the Iranian people are ready for freedom and technological modernization (i.e., nice cars, cell phones, computers, etc...).

I think the die-hards in power want to continue to oppress the rest of the Iranian population.

Having gone to high-school and college with a number of Iranian kids and through my research into the Iranian PEOPLE... I certainly don't think any but a tiny fanatical fraction are "terrorists" or have any interest in conflict with the USA or any other nation.

The Iranian GOVERNMENT sadly is driven by fanatics who dream of the return of the Lost Imam, and think that they can gain world-respect by playing games.

For the most part, the people are fine. The younger generation tends to like American and western culture (although what they can get their hands on tends to be outdated by at least 5 years). They are much like us, not in control of what their government does. Spoon-fed propaganda and false information to condition them into a belief about the 'enemy'. Not saying Iran is all good guys; I don't trust Ahmadeinejhad.

I don't want the US to fight Iran now, we'd probably take large casualties even if a victory would be easy. We certainly would not be capable of the type of operation we're attempting in Iraq now. I don't think war is possible with them unless they get nuclear weapons, and even then it's not guaranteed. North Korea is proof that a nuclear weapon is a better bargaining chip than weapon in this day and age. Even General Abizaid feels the same way.

I don't personally know and Iranian people right now, but the Iranians I've known in the past where very friendly.

I do not see any viable reason for the US to war with Iran, it just imperialist BS.

well im iranian but im not a terrorist I am sick of people who sit there and catagorize a whole country under one group. That is just stupid and I think u need to judge people on an individual basis not a group one. yes the govertment sucks over there with the freakin monkey man running it but don't base everyone in that country to him and his stupid followers
